Overview:

2026 will be the 5th season of Citizens’ sponsorships of the New Jersey Devils and Prudential Center and the New York Giants. These relationships set us apart from our competition and enable us to deliver a differentiated experience for current and potential customers. We are working to bring new enhancements to the venues for 2026 to foster and create increased engagement with attendees that will translate into favorable brand awareness and positively impact our business.

In addition to the sports sponsorships, Citizens is proud to be entering the 2nd year as the presenting partner of Shakespeare for the City, the Public Theater’s free summer programming that brings world-class performances to audiences across New York City form May – September, including Free Shakespeare in the Park at the Delacorte Theater in NYC’s Central Park

Position:

Citizens Sponsorships Intern 

Timing:

July – May; position may be extended to coincide with New Jersey Devils season

Location:

101 John F Kennedy Parkway, Short Hills, NJ (large portion of time will be spent at MetLife Stadium and Prudential Center)

Schedule:

  • Up to 40 hours per week, including:

  • Giants Training Camp, five (5) activations during Giants home games. 

  • Training date TBD

  • Weekend and weeknight activations during fifteen (15) to twenty (20) Devils home games and Prudential Center events.

  • Training date TBD

  • Beginning of October, other dates TBD

  • Weekend and weeknight activations for ten (10) shows at the Delacorte Theater, five (5) stops for Mobile Unit tour, and Public Works (May-Aug)

  • On-site contact for fifteen (15) ticket distributions at Citizens branches across the five boroughs (June-Aug)

  • Shift reporting times vary- 8am on Giants gamedays, 4:30pm for Devils night games and 10am for Devils afternoon games. Prudential Center events TBD. 4:30pm for Delacorte Theater and Mobile Unit activations and 8am for branch ticket distributions.  

  • Traditional daytime office hours on non-game/activation days when needed

  • Community, press and virtual events

General Responsibilities - Reports to Senior Sponsorships Manager

  • New Jersey Devils and New York Giants (TEAMs)

  • On-site liaison between the TEAMs and Citizens for sponsorship-related programs at their respective venues, including distribution and inventory of premium giveaways and interaction with fans, lead generation, account opening, etc.

  • Manages all aspects of Citizens Game Ready Banker ambassador program.

  • The Game Ready Banker program consists of 8-10 Citizens colleagues who are at the TEAMs activation and the intern is responsible for coordinating schedules to ensure full coverage at gameday activations and serve as the liaison for Citizens sponsorship team.

  • Assists with distribution of sponsorship hospitality tickets and premium items to community partners.

  • Shakespeare for the City

  • On-site liaison between the Public Theater and Citizens for sponsorship-related programs, including distribution and inventory of premium giveaways and interaction with fans, lead generation, account opening, etc.

  • Manages all aspects of Citizens Showtime Banker ambassador program.

  • The Showtime Banker program consist of 8-10 Citizens colleagues who are at the Free Shakespeare in the Park activations and the intern is responsible to coordinate schedules to ensure full coverage at activations and serve as the liaison for Citizens sponsorship team.

  • Coordinates and manages the branch ticket distributions

  • Liaison with Public Theare ticket staff and branch managers to ensure schedules, full coverage and prep for any giveaways and ticket line interactions.

  • Provides general support for Sponsorships team, working on projects including virtual events, company meetings, press conferences, publications and community initiatives. 

General Requirements:

  • On track to graduate with a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Sports Marketing, Event Management or a related field.

  • Open to current students in New Jersey 

  • Must be available for training dates, Giants training camp, 5 Giants home games and 15-20 Devils games/Prudential Center events including nights, weekends, and holidays, Shakespeare for the City training,10 activations and 15 ticket distributions, as well as weekly daytime office hours and special events as needed.

  • Successfully complete a HireVue assessment within 4 days of receiving the link. If not completed within the timeframe, your application will be automatically withdrawn from consideration. 

  • Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, writing, and organizational skills.

  • Supervisory and project management experience recommended – interns will manage colleague ambassadors at each shift.

  • Ability to interact and manage colleagues at different levels of the organization.

  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).

  • Experience with social media initiatives recommended.

  • Reliable car transportation for travel in NJ and NYC.

  • Ability to lift up to 40lbs.

*This is a paid internship with college credits also available if needed.

The position offers $25/per hour.
