Summer Internship Program
In our 10-week summer internship program, you'll experience our business and culture through project-based assignments, learning, networking, volunteer opportunities and mentorship. You'll learn about the various Commercial Banking business lines, with opportunities in Corporate Banking, Global Markets, Treasury Solutions, Underwriting & Portfolio Management, and more!

What you’ll do.
- Perform financial analysis
- Prepare credit approval requests and annual reviews
- Participate in deal screen presentations and credit approval meetings
- Support Portfolio Managers (PMs), Credit Analysts (CAs), and Relationship Managers (RMs) in new loan transaction underwriting, loan monitoring, and business development

Your impact.
Upon successful completion of the Summer Internship program, you can land a full-time role in our Commercial Banker Development Program (CBDP), or be placed directly into a full-time role on a Commercial Banking team.
Commercial Banker Development Program (CBDP)
In our 12-month, full-time, rotational program, you'll be trained on Commercial Lending skills like accounting, underwriting, systems, and Citizens' products. Training is followed by 2 rotations in underwriting and portfolio management, helping teams like Commercial Real Estate, Leveraged Lending, Specialty Finance, and more! Upon successful completion of the program, you'll be placed on a team as a Credit Analyst.

What you’ll do.
- Receive formal training in accounting and credit analysis
- Prepare underwriting documents while on rotation in various business areas
- Build client relationship management skills

2026 Commercial Banker Development Program (CBDP)
We prioritize our interns for our open CBDP roles. If we have any remaining open roles, they'll be posted on our career site late August 2025, or as business needs change.
