As a Risk Governance Senior Manager, you will be a key contributor to Citizens’ risk policy and governance structure. You will collaborate on governance-related activities for executive and board-level risk committees, manage policy lifecycle processes, and partner with stakeholders across the enterprise to ensure compliance with regulatory expectations and internal standards. In addition, you will provide project and business support for the Risk Division, helping drive operational excellence and strategic initiatives. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who wants to deepen their governance expertise and interface with senior and executive leadership.

This position provides high visibility and collaboration with leadership across the enterprise. You will influence decision-making in support of the Enterprise Risk Management Governance Framework, support Board and Management-level Risk Committees, and guide stakeholders in applying risk governance standards effectively.Administrative elements of the role include documentation review, collaboration with policy owners and committee documentation furnishers on exhibit refinement, and recordkeeping.

Primary responsibilities include

  • Support Governance Excellence: Coordinate activities for risk committees, including producing meeting agendas and minutes, reviewing, compiling and distributing materials, and maintaining governance documentation. 
  • Policy & Framework Administration: Manage policy review processes and ensure adherence to Citizens’ Policy and Procedure Framework. 
  • Workflow Architect: Serve as a subject matter expert on GRC application workflows that operationalize framework requirements for policies and procedures.
  • Regulatory & Audit Support: Assist with regulatory exams and internal audits, ensuring timely and accurate responses, as applicable. 
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Partner with risk leaders, policy owners, and front-line units to embed governance practices and drive process improvements. 
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance governance processes and tools. 
  • Project & Business Support: Provide administrative and project support for the Risk Division as needed.

Qualifications, Education, Certifications and/or Other Professional Credentials

  • Experience: 5+ years in risk management, governance, or policy development within financial services or a regulated industry.
  • Expertise: Understanding of risk frameworks, regulatory requirements, and governance best practices.
  • Technical: Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams); experience with Archer/GRC, Wdesk, or Ariba is a plus.  Strong writing and grammar skills is essential.
  • Growth Mindset: Adaptable, critical thinker willing to embrace innovation and leverage new technologies (e.g., MS Copilot) to drive efficiency and insights.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or certifications (e.g., FRM, CRCM) preferred.

Hours & Work Schedule

  • Hours per Week: 40+
  • Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm, with some flexibility required during peak demand periods.

Pay Transparency

The salary range for this position is $100,000-$125,000 per year, plus an opportunity to earn an annual discretionary bonus. Actual pay is based on various factors including but not limited to the work location, and relevant skills and experience.
