We are seeking a Private Bank, Client Relations Manager (CRM) to join our team in Newport Beach, CA. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with strong experience in complex residential and commercial lending and underwriting who thrives in a collaborative, high-performing environment. 

Role Overview

As a Private Bank, Client Relations Manager (CRM), you will serve as a critical partner to the Relationship Manager team, supporting client needs while actively contributing to new business development and delivering an exceptional experience from initial engagement through post-close servicing. The CRM assists clients throughout the loan application process and serves as a key point of contact after loan closing. This individual will bring a deep understanding of the loan origination lifecycle and ongoing servicing channels for both mortgage and deposit solutions. In partnership with Relationship Managers, the CRM supports credit analysis and client prequalification, with exposure to a range of sophisticated loan products tailored to client needs. At the Senior level, the Client Relations Manager is capable of stepping in for the Relationship Manager when needed, ensuring continuity of service and seamless client support.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Serve as a first point of contact for prospects and clients, including:
    • Introductory meetings
    • Providing rates and preliminary guidance when the Relationship Manager is unavailable
  • Handle initial calls from new clients as needed and lead most initial deal-screening calls for returning clients
  • Demonstrate knowledge across pricing, deal structuring, underwriting, credit policy, and analysis for multiple loan products (e.g., Residential and Commercial Real Estate / Multifamily)
  • Develop a strong understanding of assigned Relationship Manager(s)’ client base, business strategy, and product specialization
  • Support new business development by fielding prospects and identifying opportunities within the existing client portfolio
  • Routinely review the current client base to uncover deposit and cross-sell opportunities
  • Respond promptly and professionally to client inquiries and servicing requests
  • Partner with Relationship Managers to coordinate client meetings, events, and client appreciation efforts
  • Manage the active loan pipeline from pre-approval through underwriting, closing, and post-close, including:
    • Conducting pre-qualifications and analyzing client documentation
    • Answering client questions related to the Initial Loan Estimate and loan structure
  • Play a key support role in credit pre-screening and collaborate closely with Private Bank Credit Officers
  • For internal Relationship Managers aspiring to become independent, partner with Relationship Management Directors (RMDs) to build fluency across the full suite of Citizens Private Bank products and services beyond lending


Qualifications, Education & Experience

  • 5+ years of experience supporting Relationship Managers and private bank clients (preferred)
  • Proven track record of managing the lending process from origination through closing, with specialized expertise in residential lending, CRE and MF analysis for sophisticated, high-net-worth clients, required
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Experience with complex residential and commercial loan structures highly valued
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proven ability to manage relationships and partner closely with clients and internal stakeholders.


Hours & Work Schedule

Hours per week: 40
Schedule: Monday–Friday
Work Structure: 4 days in-office / 1 day work-from-home
Location: Newport Beach, CA

Pay Transparency 

The salary range for this position is $120,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year plus an opportunity to earn an annual discretionary bonus. Actual pay is based on various factors including but not limited to the work location, and relevant skills and experience.
