Description

Citizens Financial Group, Inc. (CFG) seeks a Software Engineer II for its Phoenix, AZ location.

Duties: Design, modify, develop and implement technology solutions to create secure and robust applications that align with mission-driven strategic business goals. Participate in an environment rapidly transforming to the Agile methodology, adhering to best practices and collaborating effectively with teammates. Develop and maintain REST API’s that support multiple data formats and integrate various microservices with frameworks, facilitating the rapid development of modern applications. Infuse quality of service characteristics, such as scalability, manageability and maintainability, into distributed service-based frameworks to create and expand business and technical capabilities. Document development iteration and ensure code is compliant. Participate in code and design reviews with Architects and software engineering teams to ensure that solutions align with current enterprise standards and best practices.

Requirements: Master’s degree in Computer Science, or a related field. Experience must include the following, gained with through professional experience or educational studies: Utilizing JIRA to track progress and development via Scrum boards and adhering to Agile best practices; Leveraging distributed version control systems, including GIT, to track code versions and manage code across multiple repositories; Utilizing databases, including relational (SQL) and non-relational (DynamoDB), for efficient data querying and management; Leveraging programming languages, including Java, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS; Developing robust and secure enterprise REST APIs and enhancing existing APIs; Developing AWS cloud services, including S3 buckets, DynamoDB, and Lambda functions; Utilizing frameworks, including Spring Boot, ReactJS and Apache Tomcat to develop and manage various microservices based on the MVC framework; Utilizing Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, along with logging tools, to monitor and enhance application performance; Utilizing IDE and development tools, including IntelliJ, VS Code, Gradle and Maven; and Implementing unit and Integration tests to ensure the microservices are robust, secure and function as expected.
