Citizens is looking for an Associate to join our Convertible Sales team in New York City. This individual is on the institutional sales desk that works closely with partners across research, trading and Equity Capital Markets (ECM) to develop and build the client platform for the Research & ECM solutions. 

Citizens' equity research department covers 400+ public companies and provides institutional clients with comprehensive industry knowledge, unique insight and actionable information. Our senior research analysts are charged with developing proprietary investment themes, anticipating secular and cyclical changes and producing action-oriented reports. Citizens follows companies in seven broad growth industries: Technology, Healthcare, Financial Services, Consumer, Industrials , Digital Infrastructure and Real Estate—and produces specialized equity research that enables investors to understand and invest in complicated growth stocks profitably. 

Primary responsibilities include

  • Support the MD in convertible sales activities, including execution preparation and key client coverage initiatives.
  • Market the firm’s convertible offerings and contribute to idea generation and client outreach.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with institutional investors and internal stakeholders across Capital Markets, Research, and Trading.
  • Identify, qualify, and engage prospective institutional clients such as hedge funds, mutual funds, pensions, and family offices.
  • Monitor market trends and pricing developments to support timely communication, informed decision‑making, and seamless desk coordination.

Qualifications, Education, Certifications and/or Other Professional Credentials

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.

  • 2+ years of relevant experience in capital markets, sales, trading support, or other institutional client‑facing financial roles.

  • FINRA SIE, Series 7, and Series 63 required (or ability to obtain within the required timeframe).

  • Strong verbal communication skills — especially over the phone — with the ability to build and maintain relationships with institutional investors and internal partners.

  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel, Bloomberg, and market data tools.

  • Demonstrated strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

  • Positive, self‑motivated, and entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team.

Hours & Work Schedule

  • Hours per Week: 40 +
  • Work Schedule: Monday to Friday 

Pay Transparency

The salary range for this position is $130,000 to $160,000 per year, plus an opportunity to earn an annual discretionary bonus. Actual pay is based on various factors including but not limited to the work location, and relevant skills and experience.  ​
