Role Overview

The Business Data Architect is responsible for designing and implementing enterprise data architecture solutions that align with business objectives. This role ensures data integrity, accessibility, and scalability across platforms, with a strong focus on data modeling and leveraging AWS cloud infrastructure and Snowflake cloud infrastructure for modern data solutions. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models to support business processes and analytics.
  • Design and implement data architecture frameworks ensuring integration, migration, and governance across systems.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and data engineers to translate requirements into scalable data solutions.
  • Define and enforce data standards, metadata management, and governance policies.
  • Architect and optimize data pipelines and storage solutions using AWS services (e.g., S3, Redshift, Glue, EMR, Lambda).
  • Ensure data security, compliance, and performance tuning within AWS environments.
  • Support advanced analytics and AI/ML initiatives through robust data architecture.  

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in data modeling (conceptual, logical, physical) and relational/NoSQL database design.
  • Strong knowledge of AWS data infrastructure, including EC2, S3, Redshift, Glue, EMR, and related services as well as Snowflake data infrastructure
  • Expertise in ETL processes, data integration, and real-time streaming architectures.
  • Familiarity with data governance frameworks and metadata management.
  • Proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language (Python preferred).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with big data technologies and distributed computing frameworks.
  • Knowledge of data cataloging tools and lineage tracking.
  • AWS certification (Solutions Architect or Data Analytics Specialty).
  • Bachelors Degree (Masters Preferred)

Hours and Work Schedule

  • Hours per Week: 40
  • Work Schedule: Monday - Friday

Pay Transparency 

The salary range for this position is $ 114,610 - $ 171,915 per yearplus an opportunity to earn an annual discretionary bonus. Actual pay is based on various factors including but not limited to the work location, and relevant skills and experience.
