The Community Engagement team (as part of Corporate Affairs) is seekinga dynamic Community Engagement Coordinator to help drive volunteerism and strengthen Citizens’ impact in the communities we serve. This role supports enterprise-wide community initiatives through project management, event coordination, and storytelling that highlights our commitment to giving back. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about community engagement, with strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

As part of the Community Engagement team, you will:

  • Activate volunteer opportunities, including skills-based, in-person and virtual engagements.

  • Coordinate events and manage logistics to ensure successful community partnerships and a positive colleague experience.

  • Develop compelling content and presentations that showcase Citizens’ community impact.

  • Support charitable giving and grant administration for national nonprofit partners.

  • Uphold compliance standards and maintain accurate reporting across programs.

The Community Engagement Partner will be responsible for:

  • Volunteerism and Project Management
    • Identify and manage colleague volunteer opportunities, including skills-based, in-person and virtual volunteer engagements to maximize colleague participation and experience as well as community impact.

    • Provide project management support for enterprise-wide strategic initiatives by collaborating with internal and cross functional team members. 

    • Serve as primary manager of driving volunteerism, confirming that volunteer opportunities are entered in our volunteerism database, ensuring that a sufficient number of volunteers have signed up for opportunities, and confirming that volunteer hours and impact are being captured in the system. 

  • Communications & Storytelling

    • Curate and develop compelling content, including photos and stories, for internal and external channels to highlight Citizens’ community impact.

    • Create visually engaging, metrics-driven presentations for senior leadership and key stakeholders for a variety of partnerships and programs. 

    • Deliver monthly volunteer reports and insights to business lines to inform engagement strategies.

    • Manage survey systems to collect and analyze data for signature programs, initiatives and strategic partnerships, ensuring continuous improvement.

    • Maintain and optimize volunteerism communications on the company Intranet and channels like Teams to drive awareness and engagement. 

  • Event & Meeting Coordination
    • Maintain calendars and internal communications to inform colleagues of community events.

    • Schedule internal meetings and assist in preparing agendas, briefings, and materials.

    • Support partner community events, including managing invitations, developing agenda/run of show, tracking RSVPs, event logistics and activity follow up.

  • Grant Administration & Charitable Contributions
    • Support charitable giving processes, including budget forecasting and payment accuracy through CyberGrants.

    • Collaborate with the Portfolio Impact Manager to ensure strategic partnerships align with brand and community engagement objectives.

  • Branding & Logistics
    • Manage Citizens branding elements at events and attend events as appropriate.

    • Manage and source branded collateral and promotional items to support engagement initiatives.

    • Oversee and process collateral and promotional orders, as well as manage the community engagement activation budget.

  • Compliance
    • Ensure strict adherence to corporate risk and compliance guidelines to support favorable audit outcomes.

Required Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of experience in corporate communications, marketing, or nonprofit sectors. Other related work experience will be considered.

  • Strong organization and time management skills

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong writing, verbal, and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience in project management and engaging key stakeholders in the process

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • A high-level understanding of the nonprofit sector and volunteerism

  • Demonstrated ability to produce metrics and measurement to assess impact

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint and Excel preferred).

  • Data visualization and analytics skills 

Work Schedule

  • Full-time: 40 hours/week (4 days a week in office) 

  • Standard hours: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (evenings/weekends as required)

  • Occasional travel between cities

Base salary only roles: 

Pay Transparency 

The salary range for this position is $28.00 - $33.00 per hour. Actual pay is based on various factors including but not limited to the work location, and relevant skills and experience.
