As the Senior Mortgage Default Strategy Analyst you will provide expert guidance and strategic support to the business on mortgage default management. You will play a key role in interpreting and complying with risk policy standards, applicable laws and regulations, and the enterprise risk management framework, while helping drive improved customer and business outcomes.

In this role you will be responsible for monitoring and improving performance across the Mortgage portfolio, designing risk-based segmentation, enhancing operational treatment strategies, and evolving processes that drive sustainable, long-term performance improvement.

Partnering closely with Collections, Loss Mitigation, Foreclosure Leadership, and Investors, you will help refine workflows, controls, and treatment strategies with a focus on increasing customer engagement, reducing losses, and positively impacting the bottom line. This role requires strong analytical capabilities, strategic thinking, and the ability to influence across teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and present mortgage portfolio performance insights, findings, and recommended actions to leaders across Strategy, Collections, Credit Risk, and Product

• Design and implement strategic initiatives to improve default and servicing performance

• Maintain and enhance robust performance tracking, reporting, and analytical routines

• Partner with Product, Finance, and Credit Risk teams to align on expected performance outcomes driven by strategic initiatives

• Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, customer response, and loss mitigation through data-driven insights

Qualifications, Education, Certifications and/or Other Professional Credentials

  • 3-5 years of experience in collections analytics and/or credit risk analytics
  • SAS / Enterprise Guide / SQL / Alteryx / DBeaver / Tableau or other data mining experience
  • Advanced MS Office skills, particularly with Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong presentation, influencing and negotiation skills
  • Strong statistical background or experience in measuring operational strategies
  • Strong organization and project management skills and the ability to partner with various internal stakeholders
  • Ability to connect and effectively communicate with people of all levels and functions
  • Able to thrive and prioritize in a changing environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in quantitative study preferred (Math, Finance, Science etc.)

Hours & Work Schedule

  • Hours per Week: 40
  • Work Schedule: M-F, 8A to 5P

Role is based out of Glen Allen, VA, Irving, TX or Johnston, RI and is onsite 4 days/week.
