Distinguished Architect

Description

Citizens Financial Group, Inc. (CFG) seeks a Distinguished Engineer for its Phoenix, AZ location.

Duties: Leads the architecture and design for core banking, operations technology and unsecured lending. Modernizes platforms to enable faster delivery with high quality. Manages engineering by enabling practices like clean coding and tech debt reduction. Creates a culture of strong technical ownership, resulting in highly reliable products, services at scale. Defines data architectures for multiple consumer use cases to enable data driven decisions. Develops robust and scalable architecture for enterprise data cache and defines integration architecture to source data from various records systems. Develops frameworks and patterns to enable orchestration, event driven architecture, and rule engines.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field followed by six (6) years of progressive experience in the role or in a related position. Full term of experience must include: Developing RESTful web services and frameworks in Java 8, J2EE, Spring, and Kafka; Designing data models and developing queries for applications in Oracle and MongoDB; Writing unit tests using Junit and Mockito; Utilizing Git and Maven in team settings; and Architecting high quality, available, performant, and scalable platforms with observability patterns, including Distributed Tracing; Experience must also include: Creating and developing efficient software designs and implementations using the Agile Software Development Life Cycle; Building use-cases, sequence diagrams, high level design documents, system architecture diagrams, system integration strategies, and business solutions proposals; Developing, deploying, and maintaining enterprise software applications including coding, debugging, testing, source code management; Developing algorithms, reusable components, and REST based web services to communicate with upstream and downstream applications; Building applications and software using multiple programming languages including Java, J2EE, JavaScript, Node JS, and GraphQL; Utilizing databases, including NoSQL DB; and Implementing Event-Source based application architecture with support of messaging queues such as Kafka.
