Description

The Collateral Risk Management (CRM) department oversees the collateral ordering and quality assurance processes supporting the Citizens Home Equity and Citizens Mortgage business channels. The CRM Quality Control (QC) Analyst is primarily responsible for evaluating the accuracy and appropriateness of decisions made by CRM Appraisal Analysts on  Mortgage, Home Equity, servicing and default transactions. This role ensures that all completed collateral reviews adhere to internal policies, established procedures, and applicable secondary market guidelines to appropriately mitigate risk.

The Collateral Risk Quality Control Analyst function includes reviews of random samples, discretionary audits, and targeted audits encompassing all Review colleagues. Audit scope includes Mortgage Conventional appraisal reports as well as all Equity collateral reports, including GSE appraisal reports and Alternative Collateral Products (ACPs).

Primary responsibilities include

  • Conduct scorecard-based quality control assessments of Appraisal Analyst activities, including final documentation and results
  • Documenting all QC review results within the Microsoft Access database
  • Assist with research and analysis of loan-level reporting to solve for audit or other appraisal related issues
  • Compile QC reports and distribute them to Review Managers, including documenting and tracking responses to identified infractions
  • Attend monthly QC touch base meetings to communicate results
  • Complete required Regulatory and HR compliance training each quarter by established deadlines

Qualifications, Education, Certifications and/or Other Professional Credentials

Required Qualifications

  • Experience in Collateral Underwriting, Collateral Review, or Collateral Quality Control within a nationwide lending environment 
  • Strong knowledge of mortgage banking products, mortgage operations, and property valuation principles
  • Exceptional organizational skills and strong attention to detail
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook, 
  • Knowledge of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac guidelines
  • Proactive sense of identifying needs/issues and swiftly addressing matters independently
  • Background in Analytics preferred
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred 
  • Interest in process improvement, automation initiatives, and emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence

Hours & Work Schedule

  • Hours per Week: Full Time 40 hours
  • Work Schedule: M-F In‑office presence required at least 4 days per week in Glen Allen, VA
