This colleague will be responsible for overseeing and strengthening the business risk and compliance control environment for External Loan Servicing, with a particular focus on third-party vendor relationships. This role involves developing and maintaining a comprehensive end-to-end risk management program, ensuring control effectiveness and alignment with regulatory expectations.

The individual will collaborate closely with business line vendor managers, product, and third-party vendors to manage identified risk, formulate action plans, monitor risk events, and ensure timely remediation and validation. This role also requires active engagement with all lines of defense and various product teams to maintain a current understanding of regulatory, statutory, and legislative requirements.

Additionally, the Risk Management professional will lead internal and regulatory examinations related to third-party relationships, coordinating across internal stakeholders and external vendors to prepare and deliver required documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Risk Governance & Issue Management
    • Champion a strong risk control culture that aligns with the bank’s risk appetite and regulatory expectations.
    • Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate material risks across business operations and third-party relationships.
    • Lead weekly risk meetings and actively participate in risk forums to review GRC items, emerging issues, business risks, and action/discussion points.
    • Collaborate with product owners and third-party vendors to define risks, implement mitigation plans, monitor remediation progress, and ensure timely approvals and resolution.
    • Partner with all lines of defense to maintain alignment with the bank’s compliance and governance frameworks.
    • Oversee change control initiatives, ensuring impacts are thoroughly evaluated, documented, and executed.
  • Regulatory & Internal Review Coordination

    • Manage and coordinate regulatory examinations and internal audits, working closely with vendor managers, third-party providers, product teams, and exam managers.
    • Track industry and regulatory developments to ensure timely adoption of required changes and maintain compliance readiness.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Proven experience in risk management, regulatory exam coordination, and third-party oversight.
  • Strong understanding of consumer lending operations, particularly Student and Auto loans.
  • Proficiency in GRC systems and risk documentation processes.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), analytical, and project management skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities; able to work independently with minimal direction.

Preferred:

  • Experience with OCC and CFPB regulatory environments.
  • Familiarity with internal audit and compliance assurance methodologies.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Business, Risk Management, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • Equivalent work experience may be considered.

Hours & Work Schedule: 4 days in the office, 1 working from home

  • Hours per Week: 40
  • Work Schedule: Monday-Friday

Pay Transparency

The salary range for this position is $80,587-$120,880 per year, plus an opportunity to earn an annual discretionary bonus. Actual pay is based on various factors including but not limited to the work location, and relevant skills and experience.
