The Software Team at Citizens M&A Advisory is seeking an Investment Banking Analyst III / Associate I to join our Atlanta office. The Analyst/Associate will work closely with the team’s junior and senior bankers in pitching and executing M&A transactions, primarily within the U.S. middle market.

Our team covers multiple sectors within application software, including HR technology, vertical SaaS and industrial technology. Analysts/Associates gain extensive exposure to clients and senior bankers, are involved in all stages of a transaction and play an integral role in driving successful outcomes.

Primary responsibilities include

  • Transaction Process Support: Assist senior bankers in managing all phases of the M&A process — including pitch materials, kickoff presentations, buyer research and outreach, marketing materials, due diligence, data room management and closing coordination.
  • Project Management: Track deal milestones, organize client deliverables and maintain communication with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely progress across multiple active engagements. Participate in and help lead meetings with clients and prospects.
  • Presentation Development: Create high-quality PowerPoint materials including pitch decks, Confidential Information Presentations and management presentations.
  • Industry and Buyer Research: Conduct industry and company research to identify key trends, competitive positioning and potential acquirers with strategic rationale.
  • Financial Analysis & Modeling: Analyze financial statements, prepare valuation analyses and build detailed driver-based forecast models to support marketing and client materials.
  • Due Diligence Support: Assist clients in preparing due diligence materials, ensuring accuracy, completeness and consistency across all deliverables.
  • CRM and Data Management: Maintain accurate, up-to-date information in Salesforce and other internal databases to support marketing initiatives and deal execution.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with team members and across the investment bank to support business development efforts, win new mandates, and deliver successful client outcomes.

Qualifications, Education, Certifications and/or Other Professional Credentials

  • 2+ years of work experience in investment banking, transaction advisory or a related role. 
  • Experience working with software companies is not required 
  • Strong PowerPoint skills (experienced at developing polished, visually compelling materials that clearly communicate company positioning, industry insights and financial performance)
  • Strong technical skills (knowledge of accounting, modeling, Excel)
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment 
  • Intelligent, resourceful, self-starter with a strong work ethic and collaborative mindset 

Hours & Work Schedule

  • Hours per Week: 40 +
  • Work Schedule: Monday to Friday
