As a Data Science Manager, you will lead a team focused on AI and ML methods to solve complex business challenges across Business Banking. You’ll guide technical execution, mentor data scientists, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment between technical deliveries and business needs. Most importantly, you will bring technical leadership and people leadership skills and experience to manage and develop a high-performance team of data scientists. Additionally, you will engage with data & analytics teams internally as well as other teams including technology, model risk management and others to develop highly meaningful and relevant insights and develop understanding customer behavior for driving data driven customer management practices. 

Job Responsibilities

• Lead a team of data scientists to build advanced analytical capabilities aligned with business priorities. 
• Collaborate with Data & Analytics leadership and business stakeholders to understand business needs, develop work plans, and implement advanced analytics solutions (including machine learning, optimization, and heuristic models). 
• Oversee the development and maintenance of comprehensive feature stores and curated data for domains such as sales, marketing, finance, profitability, targeting and customer life cycle analytics. 
• Generate analytical insights and provide strategic direction to senior management. 
• Provide technical and people leadership, managing and developing a high-performance team of data scientists.
• Foster a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and high performance within the data science team

Qualifications

Required:

• 7+ years of experience in data science, machine learning, or AI, with at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial role with experience managing 3 or more data scientists.
• Hands-on experience building machine learning models with open source.
• Strong proficiency in Python and experience with core libraries and frameworks including experience using cloud computing.
• Proven ability to lead technical teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Experience working with unstructured data and integrating AI/ML solutions into business workflows.
• Strong communication skills, including technical writing and stakeholder engagement.

Preferred:

• Familiarity with MLOps tools.
• Experience interacting with model validation teams.
• Background in Agile methodologies and project management tools.
• Experience working in Financial Services

Hours & Work Schedule

• Hours per Week: 40
• Work Schedule: Monday - Friday
• Hybrid Schedule: 4 days onsite at a Citizens Corporate Office

Pay Transparency

The salary range for this position is $170,000 - $210,000 per year, plus an opportunity to earn an annual discretionary bonus. Actual pay is based on various factors including but not limited to the work location, and relevant skills and experience.
