The Head of Wealth Supervision will be responsible for building out the first line of defense day-to-day supervision for the Private Wealth and Citizens Securities wealth businesses.  This role will require at least 10+ years of industry experience with a vast knowledge of both brokerage and RIA supervision.  Strong product and supervision knowledge in Alternative Investments, Structured Products, Insurance, Annuities, along with a strong knowledge of portfolio investment supervision will be required.  This role will provide oversight to a team of Regional Supervision Officers responsible for reviewing and approving various financial transactions, accounts, and activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies, by meticulously examining documentation and identifying potential risks, while providing guidance to team members on complex cases and maintaining a high level of quality control and collaboration. This role will provide oversight, supervision, and be a point of escalation to Wealth Advisors and support staff and is a key strategic role for the Supervision/Risk organization.   

Key responsibilities may include: 

  • Strategic Partner: Collaborate with the Head of Business Oversight and Controls to build out the day-to-day Supervision of the Private Wealth (RIA/Brokerage) and Citizens Securities wealth business  
  • Supervision Oversight: Leading team in reviewing and approving transactions, new account openings, margin applications, options trades, trade corrections, and other activities requiring principal approval to ensure adherence to FINRA, SEC, and other regulatory requirements
  • Point of Escalation: All RSO, Wealth Advisor, and client escalations will be handled by the role  
  • Team Management: Supervising a team of Principal Review specialists, assigning tasks, providing training, coaching, and performance evaluations to maintain high standards of accuracy and efficiency 
  • Risk Assessment: Identifying potential compliance risks within transactions and accounts, escalating issues to relevant departments for further investigation and corrective action
  • Policy Interpretation: Interpreting firm policies and procedures related to principal approvals, ensuring consistent application across the team
  • Regulatory Reporting: Maintaining accurate records of review activities and preparing reports for regulatory examinations as needed
  • Client Compliant Resolution
  • Collaborating with other departments like sales, operations, compliance, and legal to address issues, clarify guidelines, and ensure smooth operations

Qualifications: 

  • In-depth knowledge of securities industry regulations, including FINRA/SEC rules, suitability guidelines, and anti-money laundering regulations
  • In-depth knowledge of the following products and the supervision of these products:
    • Alternative Investments
    • Structured Products
    • Syndicate
    • Insurance
    • Annuities
  • In-depth knowledge of portfolio investment supervision
  • 10+ years of industry experience in supervision is required
  • Series 7, Series 66 (or Series 63 and Series 65) and Series 24 (or Series 9/10) licensure required
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team, provide effective feedback and coaching to staff
  • Insurance licensure and Series 4 preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills  
  • Strong organizational and teamwork skills 

Hours & Work Schedule

  • Hours per Week: 40
  • Work Schedule: M-F

Pay Transparency

The salary range for this position is $150,000 - $185,000 per year, plus an opportunity to earn an annual discretionary bonus. Actual pay is based on various factors including but not limited to the work location, and relevant skills and experience.
