As the Principal Data & Analytics Solution/Software Engineer, you will lead the design and execution of scalable reporting and analytical solutions that support our Risk, Finance, and Compliance functions. Your work will improve the effectiveness and efficiency of our data strategy through thoughtful architecture, stakeholder collaboration, and integration of emerging technologies like AI. You’ll be hands-on in developing analytical frameworks, visualizations, and data-driven insights that align with Citizens’ business strategy. Key Responsibilities:

Solution Architecture

  • Design end-to-end data and analytics solutions supporting Risk, Finance, and Compliance teams.
  • Contribute to the development of analytics platforms and business rule engines.
  • Explore and apply AI/ML techniques to enhance anomaly detection, predictive analytics, and automation in financial crime and compliance areas.

Delivery & Execution

  • Lead multi-workstream initiatives including Credit Bureau Reporting, HMDA Servicing Analytics, and AML dashboard automation.
  • Maintain and expand project plans at sprint/bi-weekly levels to ensure transparency and progress tracking.
  • Track risks, issues, and dependencies proactively to ensure timely escalation and resolution.
  • Lead a small team of resources in a global delivery model

Reporting & Visualization

  • Build and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, WebFOCUSor Looker.
  • Monitor KPIs and operational metrics related to AML, compliance, and risk management.
  • Translate business needs into clear reporting strategies and data-driven insights.

Stakeholder Engagement & Leadership

  • Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver high-impact solutions.
  • Manage offshore teams and mentor junior engineers and analysts.
  • Communicate complex data concepts to non-technical audiences effectively.

Regulatory & Compliance Initiatives

  • Knowledge and / or experience in the areas of Compliance and Risk such as CFPB 1071, Dodd-Frank, Fair Lending analytics, and SAR automation. 
  • Finance – Regulatory, SEC and Management reporting & Analytics

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in solution engineering, data analytics, in financial services technology.
  • Strong domain expertise in AML, Compliance, Risk, or Finance.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, and cloud platforms.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker, Alteryx).
  • Familiarity with data warehousing and large datasets is required.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a similar technical field or equivalent industry experience. 

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with enterprise data platforms and reporting frameworks.
  • Exposure to AI/ML tools and techniques for analytics and automation.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

    Pay Transparency 

    The salary range for this position is $124,240 – $186,360 per yearplus an opportunity to earn an annual discretionary bonus. Actual pay is based on various factors including but not limited to the work location, and relevant skills and experience.
