Description
Citizens Bank is undertaking a multi‑year transformation of its retail branch network, shifting from a cost‑focused footprint to a performance‑driven, growth‑oriented distribution model. The Senior Business Insights Analyst, Branch Network Distribution will play a central role in enabling that transformation.
This role is responsible for building and maintaining the core reporting, analytics, and management information used to measure and manage branch network performance. The analyst will develop insight across the banker, branch, market, and enterprise levels, translating complex data into clear, decision‑ready perspectives for senior leaders. Key stakeholders include the Head of Distribution Transformation, Head of the Retail Branch Network, and the Head of the Consumer Bank.
This is a hands‑on analytical role with meaningful exposure to executive leadership, requiring both technical depth and strong business judgment.
Key Responsibilities
- Network Performance Reporting & Insights
- Design, build, and maintain a comprehensive suite of reporting and dashboards that measure branch network performance using leading and lagging indicators.
- Develop performance views across multiple levels (banker, branch, market, enterprise) to support day‑to‑day management and long‑term strategic decisions.
- Proactively identify trends, risks, and opportunities and translate findings into actionable insights for senior stakeholders.
- Data Knowledge, Wrangling & Preparation
- Develop deep understanding of branch, banker productivity, customer, and financial data domains.
- Use advanced SQL and tools such as Alteryx (or equivalent) to source, cleanse, and prepare high‑quality analytical datasets.
- Ensure consistency, accuracy, and clarity of metrics and definitions across reporting outputs.
- Business Intelligence & Tool Expertise
- Build and maintain semantic data models that enable efficient, scalable reporting and analysis.
- Leverage multiple BI and visualization tools to deliver intuitive, decision‑ready insights.
- Continuously improve automation, performance, and usability of reporting assets.
- Business Partnering & Influence
- Serve as a trusted analytical partner to Distribution and Consumer Bank leadership.
- Anticipate stakeholder questions and frame insights to support effective decision‑making.
- Provide thoughtful, data‑driven recommendations with clear implications and trade‑offs.
- People & Project Leadership
- Lead analytical initiatives end‑to‑end, including scoping, work planning, execution, and delivery.
- Develop project plans, manage timelines, and provide clear status updates to stakeholders.
- Mentor and coach junior analysts, helping elevate overall analytical capability.
- Executive Communication
- Produce polished, executive‑ready materials including presentations, memos, and summaries.
- Distill complex analyses into concise narratives tailored to senior leadership audiences.
- Ways of Working & Continuous Improvement
- Operate independently with strong ownership and accountability for outcomes.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase speed, accuracy, and scalability.
- Thoughtfully adopt GenAI tools to enhance analytical productivity while maintaining rigor and governance.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in analytics, business intelligence, or a related role; financial services or retail banking experience preferred.
- Advanced SQL proficiency; hands‑on experience with Alteryx or similar data preparation tools strongly preferred.
- Strong experience with BI and visualization platforms and semantic modeling concepts.
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex data into clear insights for senior leaders.
- Experience leading projects and mentoring junior team members.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Analytics, or a related field; advanced degree a plus.

Hours & Work Schedule
- Hours per Week: 40
- Work Schedule: Monday - Friday
- Hybrid: 4 days per week onsite, 1 day remote
PayTransparency
The salary range for this position is $110,000 - $135,000, plus an opportunity to earn an annual discretionary bonus. Actual pay is based on various factors including but not limited to the work location, and relevant skills and experience.
