VP Asset Backed Securitization Portfolio Management

Description

Citizens Bank is seeking a highly motivated VP to join the Portfolio Management team within the ABS group which is part of the Structured Products department in the Capital Markets division. This role supports Asset Backed Securitization Lending (“ABSL”), which is responsible for sourcing, underwriting, and managing loan commitments backed by portfolios of consumer and commercial non-mortgage assets. The VP will play a key role in managing existing transactions, supporting deal execution, and ensuring ongoing compliance and performance tracking.

Primary responsibilities include

  • Responsible for management and tracking for a portfolio of 15-25 existing ABSL transactions
  • Participating in client diligence sessions and ad-hoc client meetings, as appropriate

  • Establishing relationships and working with external parties including clients and lawyers
  • Timely communication of transaction activity and performance to key internal partners

  • Tracking, reviewing and analyzing monthly servicer reports; following up on any late reports, errors, or other administrative issues; assisting in creation and preparation of monthly performance summaries for each transaction

  • Preparing concise credit approval memos for ABSL transactions in connection with annual reviews, renewals, amendments and waivers, including presenting and defending credit arguments

  • Reviewing and summarizing legal documents for ABSL transactions

  • Building and maintaining strong working relationships with credit and origination partners as well as related sector focused investment banking colleagues
  • Assisting in the preparation and presentation of the semi-annual business review, highlighting key trends, outlooks and risks across various industries and transactions

  • Monitoring facility utilization, draws and paydowns

  • Ensuring ABSLs are captured properly in Citizens’ systems and downstream reporting

  • Acting as a liaison between the business team and operations team, as needed

  • Researching and organizing client and industry information

  • Support internal and external audits (gathering loan-level information, answering follow-up questions, etc.) 

Qualifications, Education, Certifications and/or Other Professional Credentials

  • 5+ years with exposure to structured products and/or banking environment; non-mortgage asset-back securitization experience is preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize large data sets into actionable insights
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; collaborative mindset
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational/time management skills; Ability to coordinate multiple projects and satisfy deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); familiarity with SalesForce, Precision Lender, and CRM/Dashboard is a plus
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or Economics

  • Hours per Week: 40 + 
  • Work Schedule: Monday to Friday

Pay Transparency 

The salary range for this position is $175,000 to $200,000 per year, plus an opportunity to earn an annual discretionary bonus. Actual pay is based on various factors including but not limited to the budget,  work location, and relevant skills and experience.  ​
