Position Summary

Citizens is seeking a dynamic Finance Director (SVP) to serve as the CFO and strategic finance leader for the Credit Card and Unsecured Lending businesses. This role will partner directly with Consumer Lending leadership, Product, Risk, Treasury, Marketing, Operations, and Enterprise Finance leaders to drive business performance, profitable growth, and strategic decision-making.
The position is responsible for financial leadership across Citizens' Credit Card and Unsecured Lending portfolios, including business planning, forecasting, profitability, pricing analytics, balance sheet management, credit performance oversight, capital optimization, and executive reporting. The successful candidate will act as a trusted advisor to senior business leaders while helping shape the near- and long-term growth strategy of one of Citizens' priority Consumer Lending businesses.

Key Responsibilities

Business CFO Leadership

  • Serve as the primary Finance executive supporting Credit Card and Unsecured Lending leadership - acting as the key advisor for executive decision making, investment prioritization, and business performance management.
  • Lead financial strategy development and support achievement of growth, profitability, and customer objectives.
  • Develop and deliver materials for executive management, forecasting reviews, strategic planning sessions, and board-level discussions.

Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Own monthly, annual, and strategic plan forecasting processes for Balance Sheet, Income Statement, and non-financial outlooks.
  • Identify risks and opportunities and develop actions to close forecast gaps.
  • Drive portfolio profitability analysis across products, customer segments, acquisition channels, and vintages.
  • Partner with Product, Strategy, and Marketing teams to evaluate customer & relationship and product economics.
  • Partner with Credit Risk to evaluate portfolio performance, loss trends, and risk-adjusted returns.
  • Partner with Treasury and Finance leadership on funding, interest rate sensitivity, and balance sheet strategies.
  • Monitor performance against profitability, capital, and return objectives.

Leadership & Organizational Development

  • Lead analysts and finance managers supporting Credit Card and Unsecured Lending while building and developing a high-performing Card and Unsecured finance team as Citizens undergoes our "Reimagine the Bank" initiatives.
  • Drive process automation, reporting modernization, and data-driven decision making.
  • Foster strong partnership across Consumer Lending, Enterprise Finance, Treasury, Risk, and Corporate FP&A.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field.
  • Progressive finance experience within banking or financial services.
  • Experience leading and developing finance teams.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting consumer lending, consumer banking, credit card, payments, personal lending, or retail banking businesses.
  • Strong skills in:
    • Financial planning & forecasting
    • Profitability analysis
    • Executive communication
    • Financial modeling
    • Strategic business case development
  • Proven ability to influence senior executives and cross-functional leadership teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  •  CFA, CPA, or other advanced financial designation.
  • Experience with Essbase, Tableau, Dodeca, SQL-based reporting, and financial planning systems.

Hours & Work Schedule

  • Hours per Week: 40+
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday (4 days in office required, 1 day remote)

Pay Transparency

  • The salary range for this position is $170,000-$230,000 per year, plus an opportunity to earn an annual discretionary bonus. Actual pay is based on various factors including but not limited to, the budget, work location, and relevant skills and experience.
