Citizens Capital Markets & Advisory is seeking an experienced Vice President in Boston, MA, New York, NY, or Charlotte, NC to support the Real Estate & Digital Infrastructure practice of the Debt Capital Markets Group. The ideal candidate possesses an established investment banking pedigree with debt capital markets experience, and has working knowledge of institutional real estate finance, public / private REITs, and digital infrastructure. This role will support the team’s senior professionals in originating, structuring and executing debt capital markets transactions in support of acquisitions, development projects, leveraged buyouts, dividend recapitalizations, restructurings and other financings. Responsibilities will include significant transaction involvement, from origination through closing, and require the ability to work on multiple projects and transactions concurrently. The Vice President will also be responsible for supervising and developing associate and analyst level bankers.

This role will provide insight into the challenges and considerations of management teams and shareholders, including strategic, financial and capital decision making, and significant experience originating and executing transactions across the spectrum of debt capital markets solutions. The Vice President will also develop direct relationship management responsibilities through interactions with current and prospective clients and professionals at other financial institutions, law and private equity firms.
Primary responsibilities include
- Work with senior bankers and other product and coverage partners to develop new business ideas, pitch strategies or financing scenarios to help corporate clients and financial sponsors achieve their strategic goals and objectives
- Lead the preparation and interpretation of detailed corporate and asset-level financial models in support of live and prospective transactions, client discussions and pitches, and internal credit processes
- Coordinate with senior bankers to provide indicative transaction structure and pricing guidance based on financial modeling and comparable transaction analysis
- Detailed credit underwriting focused on acquisitions, development projects, recapitalizations, restructurings, leveraged buyouts and refinancing transactions for new and existing customers
- Lead the production of offering memoranda (CIMs), rating agency and lender presentations, pitch materials, and internal credit underwriting materials in coordination with senior bankers and junior team
- Support Portfolio / Relationship Managers in the credit approval process to provide detailed transaction overviews and relevant market insights
- Play a key leadership role throughout the transaction execution process including participating in accounting / business / legal due diligence (with drafting sessions for public offerings), and work with legal counsel to negotiate credit documentation
- Work with loan syndicate and sales teams to develop distribution strategies with targeted investor lists, and coordinate with the syndicate / sales team to answer lender due diligence questions
- Assist internal operations teams, clients and investors through the closing process
Qualifications, Education, Certifications and/or Other Professional Credentials
- Undergraduate degree with a strong academic record from a leading university. All concentrations considered given level of industry experience
- MBA a strong plus, but not required given level of experience
- Attendance in a formal investment or corporate banking training program preferred
- 6+ years of direct experience with proven client interaction and Debt Capital Markets, Loan Syndications, Leveraged Finance, Direct Lending, M&A, or Mezzanine Debt transaction experience
- Full command of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint along with related financial services software including S&P CapitalIQ, Pitchbook, Advantage Data, Bloomberg, Thomson One, LSEG Loan Pricing Connector, FactSet, etc.
- FINRA Series 79 & 63 or willingness to obtain licenses in a short timeframe
- Ability to function as part of a flat organization, manage several projects at once and work effectively as an individual and as part of multiple teams
- Effective oral and written communication skills with excellent attention to detail, and the ability to express ideas in a persuasive, organized, and articulate manner
- Very strong qualitative and quantitative analytical skills with a solid understanding of financial statements, financial modeling and company / industry analysis
- High degree of maturity and integrity with a positive and hardworking attitude
Hours & Work Schedule
- Hours per Week: 40 +
- Work Schedule: Monday to Friday
Pay Transparency
The salary range for this position is $200,000 to $250,000 per year, plus an opportunity to earn an annual discretionary bonus. Actual pay is based on various factors including but not limited to the work location, and relevant skills and experience.
