Director/Managing Director, Structured Product Trader

Description

Citizens Capital Markets & Advisory is seeking a Director/Managing Director Structured Product Trader to join its Structured Products platform. This role is centered on risk management, liquidity provision, price discovery, and balance sheet optimization across Structured Products, including ABS, CLOs, and related securitized assets. The successful candidate will play a critical role in secondary market trading, primary issue execution support, and market leadership across the securitized products platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and actively manage Structured Products trading risk across ABS, CLOs, and related securitized products with disciplined balance sheet deployment.
  • Drive revenue generation through market making, relative value analysis, and tactical risk positioning.
  • Provide liquidity solutions and execution support to institutional clients across a broad range of structured product sectors.
  • Partner closely with Structured Products Sales and Syndicate teams on new issue pricing, distribution strategy, investor feedback, and aftermarket performance.
  • Deliver real-time market color, pricing intelligence, and liquidity insight to Sales, Syndicate, Banking, and Research teams.
  • Evaluate and manage inventory levels, capital utilization, and liquidity exposure in accordance with risk and return objectives.
  • Develop market expertise across a diverse range of structured product sectors, including ABS, CLOs, and related securitized assets.
  • Serve as a senior market resource regarding trading strategy, market structure, valuation, and execution dynamics.
  • Mentor junior traders and contribute to a high-performance, risk-aware trading culture.
  • Maintain strict adherence to regulatory, supervisory, and internal risk management requirements.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in Structured Products Trading, securitized markets, or a closely related capital markets role.
  • Deep expertise in ABS, CLOs, securitized products, market structure, pricing, liquidity, and relative value dynamics.
  • Strong understanding of structured finance fundamentals, rating agency methodologies, collateral performance, and credit analysis.
  • Proven ability to generate P&L through disciplined risk management and market insight.
  • Strong judgment balancing client facilitation, risk management, and firm profitability.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate market views internally and externally.

Hours & Work Schedule

  • Hours per Week: 40+
  • Work Schedule: Monday to Friday 

Pay Transparency

The salary range for this position is $300,000 to $400,000 per year, plus an opportunity to earn an annual discretionary bonus. Actual pay is based on various factors including but not limited to, the budget,  the work location, and relevant skills and experience.  ​
