Director, FX Sales - Middle Market Banking (MMB) Coverage

Commercial Banking

Boston, Massachusetts

Description

Citizens Global Markets is seeking an individual-contributor FX marketer to cover and grow the Middle Market Banking (MMB) FX book across both existing and developing markets. This individual will originate, structure, and execute FX risk management and cross-border payment solutions for MMB clients, while partnering closely with business partners across the bank to grow the FX business and elevate the Citizens brand. While the role is primarily focused on MMB coverage, experience serving corporate clients is a valued complement.

Primary responsibilities include

  • Grow the MMB FX book. Develop and execute growth strategies that expand revenue and market share across existing and developing markets—originating opportunities, deepening client engagement, and delivering value-add risk management and cross-border payment solutions.

  • Drive new business. Generate revenue through the execution of spot, forwards, options, cross-currency swaps, and foreign currency accounts, navigating complex marketing and hedging situations with a strong working knowledge of credit and the ability to engage credit officers across industries.

  • Partner internally. Collaborate across Commercial Banking, Treasury Solutions, Capital Markets, and the broader Global Markets platform (Interest Rates and Commodities) to cross-sell holistic solutions, coordinate with credit, legal, risk, and compliance, and elevate the Citizens brand.

  • Deliver client-focused solutions. Build and retain relationships by understanding each client's payments and risk management strategy and providing timely market updates and appropriate ideas that manage FX risk.

  • Advance technology initiatives. Support FX payments and platform efforts that expand capabilities, improve the client experience, and drive efficiency.

  • Mentor junior talent. Share market knowledge and best practices to develop junior team members and strengthen a collaborative FX culture.

Qualifications, Education, Certifications and/or Other Professional Credentials

  • Minimum of 8+ years of successful FX sales/marketing experience across a variety of industries, with a proven track record of driving revenue and cross-border payment activity.

  • Strong command of the full FX wallet appropriate for MMB clients—spot, forwards, options, cross-currency swaps, foreign currency accounts, and cross-border payments.

  • Well-versed in credit, cash management/treasury, and Dodd-Frank as they relate to FX solutions.

  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA and/or CFA preferred.

  • Proficiency in Bloomberg, Excel-based financial modeling, and PowerPoint.

  • Frequent travel required to support client engagements and business development across multiple geographies.
