Citizens is seeking a Director, Front Office Models to join the Capital Markets platform in our Boston office. The Director is the accountable owner of all front office pricing, valuation, and risk models supporting Commercial Sales & Trading desks. This role ensures models are commercially effective, analytically robust, and fully compliant with internal governance and regulatory expectations. Acting as the front office authority on model design and application, the Director partners closely with Trading, Risk, COO, Finance, and Model Risk Management to enable accurate pricing, transparent risk measurement, and sustainable revenue generation.

Primary responsibilities include

  • Own the end-to-end lifecycle of front office pricing, valuation, and risk models across Commercial Sales & Trading Desks
  • Serve as the front office authority on model design, methodologies, assumptions, and appropriate usage
  • Develop and enhance quantitative models to support trading, pricing, hedging, and risk analysis
  • Ensure full compliance with internal model governance frameworks and regulatory requirements
  • Lead model validation and defend models in engagements with Model Risk Management, Internal Audit, and regulators
  • Evaluate model performance and implement enhancements aligned with market, product, and regulatory developments
  • Partner cross-functionally with Trading, Market Risk, Counterparty Risk, Finance, and Technology to ensure alignment and scalability
  • Enable pricing transparency, risk insight, and effective hedging to support revenue generation and balance sheet optimization

Qualifications, Education, Certifications and/or Other Professional Credentials

  • 10+ years in front office quantitative modeling, risk analytics, or Capital Markets
  • Deep expertise in pricing and risk modeling across credit, fixed income, and structured products
  • Proven experience owning front office models in a regulated environment
  • Strong experience engaging with Model Risk Management, Audit, and regulators
  • Advanced quantitative skills (derivatives pricing, stochastic modeling, numerical methods)
  • Strong understanding of valuation, sensitivities, and risk measurement frameworks
  • Experience with complex instruments, structured products, and embedded optionality
  • Ability to operate as a senior subject matter expert and influence across trading and control functions
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to align modeling to business outcomes
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex concepts to diverse stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives in a dynamic environment

Hours & Work Schedule

  • Hours per Week:  40 +
  • Work Schedule:  Monday to Friday

Pay Transparency 

The salary range for this position is $200,000 to $300,000 per year, plus an opportunity to earn an annual discretionary bonus. Actual pay is based on various factors including but not limited to the work location, and relevant skills and experience.  ​
