Wealth and Asset Management

Westwood, Massachusetts; Johnston, Rhode Island

Description

Citizens Wealth Management offers innovative solutions tailored to high-net-worth individuals, families, and foundations. We are seeking a motivated Agile Product Manager, known internally as a Neighborhood Lead, to join our Wealth Delivery team and help build a modern, scalable Wealth platform that improves the experience of clients, advisors, and stakeholders.

Position Overview: The Neighborhood Lead is a senior Agile Product Manager responsible for translating Wealth Town strategy into a clear neighborhood-level product vision, roadmap, and prioritized set of initiatives. This leader guides and coaches Experience Owners — Citizens’ internal equivalent of Product Owners — across multiple pods to ensure discovery, prioritization, backlog health, delivery readiness, and value realization remain aligned to customer outcomes and strategic objectives.

Consistent with Citizens’ Agile operating model, the Neighborhood Lead prioritizes the neighborhood backlog, supports release planning, and partners with Experience Owners to translate product strategy into MVPs, features, stories, and measurable business value. This role requires a collaborative, customer-centric, digital-first leader who can combine product management discipline with agile execution leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Product Vision & Strategy: Translate Town and Enterprise strategic priorities into a compelling neighborhood product vision, objectives, OKRs, themes, initiatives, and roadmap. Ensure product strategy aligns with customer outcomes, business priorities, technology modernization goals, and measurable value realization. Define and communicate product strategy aligned to business goals, customer outcomes, financial impacts, organizational change considerations, and technology capacity.
  • Experience Owner / Product Owner Leadership: Lead, coach, and enable Experience Owners — Citizens’ internal equivalent of Product Owners — to translate product strategy into MVPs, prioritized epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, and delivery-ready backlogs. Establish clear product management expectations, reinforce accountability, provide ongoing coaching and constructive feedback, and promote strong ownership, customer focus, stakeholder alignment, and continuous improvement across pods.
  • Customer, Advisor & Journey Discovery: Partner with Experience Owners, stakeholders, advisors, operations teams, and technology partners to understand user needs, pain points, behaviors, and opportunities. Use discovery, user research, market analysis, journey mapping, and data insights to inform product direction and ensure solutions are designed from the customer and advisor point of view.
  • Roadmap, Backlog & Prioritization: Guide and maintain the neighborhood roadmap and integrated backlog prioritization in partnership with Experience Owners and delivery teams. Prioritize initiatives, epics, features, and user stories based on customer value, business impact, risk, feasibility, dependencies, and strategic alignment. Ensure the most valuable work is delivered first while maintaining technical integrity and long-term platform scalability.
  • Agile Product Delivery & Release Readiness: Lead agile product execution across multiple pods by supporting release planning, sprint readiness, backlog refinement, product demos, and acceptance criteria. Partner with Scrum Masters, Agile Coaches, technology teams, and Experience Owners to remove impediments, manage dependencies, and ensure teams deliver against agreed quality, scope, and value expectations. Foster an agile mindset across pods by promoting iterative delivery, transparency, continuous learning, and cross-pod collaboration while ensuring teams maintain delivery discipline and focus on customer value.
  • Stakeholder Alignment & Decision Facilitation: Serve as a product leader and decision facilitator across business, technology, risk, compliance, operations, vendors, and executive stakeholders. Communicate product priorities, tradeoffs, progress, risks, dependencies, and decisions clearly and concisely. Facilitate alignment when priorities compete or alternatives are complex. Promote transparency, shared accountability, and clear decision ownership across business, technology, risk, compliance, operations, and delivery partners.
  • Business Value, Metrics & ROI: Define and track product outcomes, Objectives and Key Results, key performance indicators, adoption measures, and business value realization. Partner with the Town Lead, Town Manager, finance partners, and stakeholders to support funding requests, business cases, resource planning, ROI tracking, and investment prioritization.
  • Platform, Vendor & Cross-Pod Alignment: Coordinate across pods and vendor partners to ensure product decisions align with Wealth platform strategy, enterprise architecture, risk and compliance expectations, operational readiness, and long-term modernization goals. Identify and prioritize cross-journey enablers, shared platform needs, and dependencies that improve the end-to-end client, advisor, and colleague experience.
  • Change Readiness & Adoption: Partner with business, operations, training, communications, and change management teams to support successful product launches, adoption, and stabilization. Lead and support the organization's transition toward product-based delivery by reinforcing product ownership, roadmap-driven planning, customer-centric prioritization, iterative delivery, and measurable business outcomes.
  • Continuous Improvement & Innovation: Foster a culture of experimentation, retrospectives, feedback loops, and continuous improvement. Identify opportunities to simplify processes, improve team efficiency, enhance product quality, reduce friction, and deliver innovative digital capabilities that advance the Wealth Management experience.

Key Skills and Competencies:

  • Product Management Leadership: Ability to define product vision, shape roadmap strategy, manage prioritized backlogs, make tradeoff decisions, and guide products from concept through delivery and adoption.
  • Customer and Journey Focus: Strong ability to understand client, advisor, colleague, and stakeholder needs and translate those insights into intuitive, scalable, and measurable product outcomes.
  • Agile Delivery Fluency: Strong understanding of agile methodologies, backlog refinement, release planning, sprint readiness, product demos, acceptance criteria, dependency management, and continuous delivery practices.
  • Strategic Thinking and Execution: Ability to translate strategy into actionable initiatives, balance short-term delivery with long-term platform direction, and drive measurable outcomes in a complex environment.
  • Stakeholder Influence and Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, executive presence, and ability to influence across business, technology, risk, compliance, operations, and vendor partners.
  • Leadership and Coaching: Ability to set direction, coach Experience Owners and agile teams, influence without formal authority, and foster a collaborative culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement.
  • Domain Expertise: Demonstrated expertise in Wealth Management technology, financial services delivery, digital platforms, or a related technical or functional area.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 10+ years of proven experience leading complex product, platform, program, or technology delivery organizations within financial services, preferably within Wealth Management.
  • Product Management: Demonstrated experience defining product vision, developing roadmaps, prioritizing backlogs, translating strategy into MVPs, and delivering products or capabilities that create measurable customer and business value.
  • Experience Owner Leadership: Experience leading or coaching Product Owners, Experience Owners, Agile Pods, or cross-functional product teams through discovery, prioritization, delivery, release, and adoption.
  • Agile Skills: Strong understanding of agile product management practices, including backlog management, user stories, acceptance criteria, release planning, dependency management, and delivery governance. Proficiency with agile delivery and collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Regulatory & Operational Acumen: Working knowledge of Broker/Dealer and Registered Investment Advisor operating models, regulatory considerations, advisor workflows, supervisory processes, and client servicing capabilities to ensure product decisions support both business growth and compliance objectives.
  • Wealth Management Platforms: Extensive first-hand experience delivering innovation with Wealth Management technology platforms. Proven history managing multiple large, complex products. Deep understanding of account onboarding, account servicing, advisor workstation, brokerage, registered investment advisor (RIA), and investment management platforms preferred.
  • Stakeholder Leadership: Proven ability to navigate ambiguity, make tradeoff decisions, influence stakeholders, remove impediments, and drive aligned outcomes across matrixed teams.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare concise executive updates and facilitate decision-making discussions.
