Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Legal Risk Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing legal risks, ensuring compliance with legal policies, and overseeing various legal processes within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Implement policies and training to reduce organizational risk.
  • Evaluate project-specific risks and propose solutions.
  • Review and improve risk management frameworks and controls.
  • Support business continuity planning and crisis management.
  • Educate leadership on strategic risks and compliance issues.

Primary responsibilities include

  • Support the identification, measurement, and mitigation of material risks in the organization.
  • Support various business line projects to address specific risk issues, working with business leaders to analyze and quantify risks, assess solutions or mitigation activities, and develop remediation plans.
  • Implement and support internal governance processes.
  • Provide risk point of view on strategies, driving change where appropriate.
  • Synthesize data and reporting; perform analysis and bring valuable business insights through evaluation of data in relation to risk and control management strategies.
  • Reviews current policies and procedures to identify process gaps and opportunities for improvement.
  • Promote a culture of risk awareness and accountability through training, education, and risk management consultative support.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in legal risk management or a related role (i.e Regulatory Risk, Audit, Third Party Vendor Assessment or Assurance).
  • Strong understanding of legal policies and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to prioritize own workload and to work under pressure with little supervision to tight deadlines whilst maintaining close attention to details.
  • Ability to influence the activities of employees at all levels across the Bank.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in law, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Professional certification or actively pursuing one of the following certifications, in –CRMA, CIA - preferred
  • Experience with GRC (Governance, Risk, and Compliance) tools and processes.

Hours & Work Schedule

  • Hours per Week: 40 hours per week
  • Work Schedule: 9am - 5pmET
  • Locations:  Johnston, RI; Boston, MA; Westwood, MA; NY, NY; Stamford, CT
