The Credit Review Analyst position is a team member role within the bank’s independent Credit Review function. The Credit Review team reports to the bank’s Audit Committee and is responsible for oversight of all bank lending activities. The  Credit Review Analyst supports senior team members in the evaluation of borrower-level loan transactions, credit portfolios, and credit risk management practices throughout the bank’s Commercial portfolios, with a particular focus on Commercial Real Estate and Community Development.

As a Credit Review Analyst, you will assist in executing credit risk review assignments to assess asset quality, verify ratings accuracy, and evaluate credit risk management practices. Your contributions will support the completion of designated review activities and help identify issues and formulate recommendations to reduce overall risk to the organization. The role involves collaboration with Credit Review Managers and interaction with credit and business staff.


Primary Responsibilities Include

  • Support senior team members in analyzing lending transactions, relationships, and portfolios as part of Credit Review’s business plan.
  • Assist in the independent assessment of individual counterparties, facilities, and portfolios, including review of financial statements, rating models, and credit agreements.
  • Help ensure the accuracy of assigned credit risk ratings and proper implementation of rating models.
  • Contribute to the evaluation of credit risk management practices and compliance with relevant credit policies and standards.
  • Assist in identifying and documenting key material defects and areas for improvement in credit processes and risk management.
  • Collaborate with Credit Review Managers to confirm and finalize findings and recommendations from transactional and portfolio analyses.
  • Communicate review findings with commercial relationship managers, consumer risk managers, and front-line management.
  • Participate in various forums, including watched asset review meetings, charge-off meetings, and portfolio review meetings.

Qualifications, Education, Certifications and/or Other Professional Credentials

  • 2–5years of experience in credit risk, underwriting, or loan review, preferably with exposure to commercial real estate lending.
  • Familiarity with US regulatory rating frameworks and credit risk management practices, including origination, underwriting, and portfolio management.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret financial statements and credit documentation.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to contribute to reports and discussions with internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently in a geographically dispersed team.
  • BA or BS in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; advanced degree or certification (e.g., CFA, FRM) is a plus.
