Job Summary:

Citizens Bank is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented professional to join our Asset Management team as a Rail Asset Manager within the Asset Finance Division. The role supports new business volume and profitability goals by providing competitive residual assessments based upon technical expertise, market knowledge, and sound business judgment.

While the primary focus of the role will be on the rail portfolio, the position may also be responsible for managing other asset classes. The Asset Manager will be responsible for maximizing asset values through strategic lease terminations, sales to lessees or third parties. In addition, the role will maintain any assets in inventory and monitor portfolio residual positions for appropriateness. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and defend residual and collateral value forecasts for proposed rail and other asset finance transactions based on sound research, analysis, judgment, and documentation.
• Maximize portfolio value through early lease terminations, end-of-term sales, and third-party remarketing.
• Deliver timely and accurate asset evaluations and appraisals.
• Establish and manage relationships with external appraisal firms and industry experts.
• Monitor and report on rail asset quality to senior management to measure portfolio soundness and to facilitate syndication strategies.
• Recommend market-competitive return conditions asset documentation standards for new transactions.
• Evaluate and execute on the remarketing of returned or assets in inventory.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience in the equipment finance industry with a strong knowledge of lease structures, and/or extensive experience valuing rail and other assets.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA, preferred.
• ASA or AMEA appraiser certification preferred.
• Proven expertise and knowledge in a wide variety of rail equipment.
• Experience in asset sales and remarketing.
• Strong knowledge of lease documentation and asset due diligence.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills with an ability to work independently.
• A proactive, results-driven approach to problem solving.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Self-motivated, confident, and decisive.

Hours per Week:  40
Work Schedule:  Monday - Friday

Pay Transparency

The salary range for this position is $120,000 - $185,000 per year, plus an opportunity to earn an annual discretionary bonus.  Actual pay is based on various factors including but not limited to the work location, relevant skills, and experience.
