Communications Manager for Business & Commercial Banking

Citizens is seeking a proactive, strategic communications professional. As a critical member of the Corporate Communications team, this Communications Manager will support both internal and external communications for Citizens in its regional markets, including our efforts to educate and engage stakeholders in our campaigns, capabilities, strategy and initiatives through storytelling. Reporting to the Head of Business and Commercial Banking Communications, this role will be instrumental in driving engagement through new ways of communicating and connecting. 

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Engage and inform national Business Banking advisory board members
  • Support growth strategy in regional markets working with key leaders
  • Support end-to-end editorial process — including creating content and measuring impact
  • Research, write and publish stories that raise awareness of our capabilities, people and wins
  • Raise and execute ideas to test and learn innovative communications formats
  • Maintain connectivity across business lines and with key partners
  • Produce weekly Business Banking email newsletter
  • Develop and execute communications plans for projects/programs as assigned

Qualifications, Education, Certifications and/or Other Professional Credentials

  • Demonstrated expertise in corporate communications or public relations, developing and executing communications strategies across internal and external channels in an in-house or PR agency setting.
  • Strong ability to craft compelling messaging and translate complex financial topics into clear, engaging content.
  • Proficiency in media relations, including pitching, securing and tracking coverage, and managing interviews and events.
  • Highly strategic and proactive mindset with strong critical thinking skills.
  • Strong design and presentation skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field required.

Hours & Work Schedule

  • Hours per Week: 40
  • Work Schedule: Monday-Friday; 4 days in office, 1 day remote
