Seeking a highly skilled Strategy Director to join the Consumer Banking Strategy group, focused on horizontal consumer strategy and special projects. Reporting to the Head of Consumer Strategy, this role will also act as a member of the extended leadership team for the Head of Consumer and will work closely with senior leaders and stakeholders on strategy, special projects, executive storytelling, board presentations, & other key senior touchpoints. This role will be responsible for delivering actionable answers to high leverage business questions, defining success measures to track progress, supporting high-level execution of strategic initiatives, and bringing rigor and objectivity to strategic decisions. This includes developing strategic growth, diversification and financial business plans including M&A activities. In partnership with business line leaders, this role will define high-level business strategy, coordinate business architecture, deliver general assessments of new business opportunities and analyze internal and external trends and drivers to optimize medium term strategy. Success in this role will be grounded in the ability to lead formal and informal teams, influence at the senior executive level, ruthlessly prioritize, distill complex problems, develop insights, and leverage critical thinking to develop actionable strategy and business cases.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct support to the Head of Consumer, including prioritization of key meetings, and responsibility for follow up and execution of critical tasks.
  • Identify, prioritize, and ensure appropriate resource allocation to key projects and initiatives that align with Consumer’s business goals.
  • Work with stakeholders to develop and support the execution of a comprehensive strategy that aligns with the Consumer Banking overall business objectives.
  • Synthesize market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape to drive innovative strategies that differentiate our offerings.
  • Analyze internal and external trends to identify growth opportunities and develop actionable insights.
  • Develop, monitor and analyze key performance indicators to measure the effectiveness of Consumer strategies and initiatives.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies to drive strategic decision-making.

  1. Strategic Thinking & Business Analysis
    Ability to develop and execute business strategies, synthesize complex data, and generate actionable insights from market and competitive analysis.
  2. Executive Communication & Storytelling
    Skilled in crafting compelling narratives and presentations for senior leadership and board-level audiences.
  3. Leadership & Stakeholder Influence
    Proven experience leading cross-functional teams and influencing senior executives to drive strategic alignment.
  4. Project & Program Management
    Expertise in managing multiple high-impact initiatives, prioritizing effectively, and executing strategic programs.
  5. Financial & Commercial Acumen
    Strong grasp of financial modeling, business case development, performance metrics, and M&A strategy.
  6. Industry & Market Insight
    Deep understanding of consumer banking, fintech trends, regulatory environments, and emerging technologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in strategy, management consulting, corporate development, or a similar field
  • Prior experience in a top-tier consulting firm (e.g., McKinsey, BCG, Bain) or in a strategic role within a large financial institution
  • Track record of delivering high-impact strategic initiatives

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Strategy, or a related field (required)
  • MBA or other advanced degree (strongly preferred), especially from a top-tier business school

Hours & Work Schedule

Hours per Week: 40+

Work Schedule: M-F 8:00-5:00
