Description

Finance Technologies team  is looking for Data Engineers with a winning track record in building high performing data and analytical solutions that transform, integrate and meet various data demands from business. This colleague will be responsible for building robust data platforms that support real-time decision-making and innovation in financial services which involves architecture, design, build, test, and support data integration projects while collaborating with cross-functional teams including Data Science, Finance, Product, and Engineering.

The Senior Data Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Implementing data integration solutions for multiple platforms in Citizens.
  • Architect and implement scalable data pipelines to ingest, transform, and centralize structured and unstructured financial data from diverse sources.
  • Develop and enforce data governance, quality, and lineage standards to ensure trust and compliance in financial data.
  • Conducting source system/data analysis and data profiling.
  • Collaborate with Finance and Business Intelligence teams to democratize data access through self-service tools and semantic layers.
  • Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies in cloud data platforms, vector databases, and AI infrastructure.
  • Create detailed design documents, technical specs including system context diagrams, conceptual overviews, design decisions/considerations, risk mitigation strategies, and other artifacts.
  • Work with team of engineers, data scientists, and domain experts to be at the forefront of AI innovation in finance.

Qualifications Required:

  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering, with a strong background in cloud-native data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
  • Working experience with nonSQL and SQL DBs
  • Proficiency in  Java, SQL, Spark, Kafka, and orchestration tools (e.g., Spring boot, SQL).
  • Experience with microservices architectures
  • Experience with data modeling, ETL/ELT pipelines, and data lake architectures (e.g., Snowflake).
  • Deep understanding of financial data systems, reporting standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data, or a similar technical field. 
  • Background in finance, fintech, or enterprise financial systems (e.g., ERP, FP&A tools)
