Citizens Bank is looking for highly quantitative, results oriented individual to build and optimize credit strategies in support of its Credit Card business.  In this role, you will be responsible for delivering analysis and recommendations across lifecycle activities of the Mortgage business.  The ideal candidate will leverage exceptional analytical and data skills to work with large data sets and seek actionable insights that drive strategic decisions. You will also assist in the management of the bank's lending portfolio, implementing decision rules and strategies, and monitoring product performance to identify opportunities for improvement. 

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Use advanced analysis techniques and tools such as R, Python and SAS to develop and maintain credit strategies that optimize risk/reward tradeoffs for the Credit Card product.
  • Interface with partners across Product, Marketing, Data Science, IT, Finance and Operations to deliver strategic business initiatives and continuous optimization of credit strategies.
  • Monitor origination and portfolio performance for the purpose of optimizing returns. Monitoring includes, but is not limited to identifying deviations from expectations, diagnosing root cause, and proposing corrective actions. 
  • Leverage intellectual curiosity to identify and drive credit optimization efforts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Science, Math, Finance, Engineering), or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • 2+ years of demonstrated application of quantitative skills in a business environment.  Experience in a lending business preferred
  • 2+ years of experience utilizing statistical programing languages – R, Python or SAS 
  • Experience extracting and manipulating data with SQL
  • Strong interpersonal skills to establish credibility and build strong relationships with business partners.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau.
  • Track record of ownership, high degree of intellectual curiosity and a results-driven attitude.
  • Exceptional problem-solving acumen with ability to think strategically.
