Job Summary:

Citizens Bank is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Investment Analyst to join our Renewable Energy Finance team within Asset Finance. This team is responsible for financing large-scale renewable energy projects across the U.S., including solar, wind, and battery storage assets, through tax equity investments.

This role will support the structuring, underwriting, execution, and asset management of renewable energy tax equity transactions. The analyst may also provide financial and portfolio analysis support to the Division’s Asset Management team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct financial, technical, and commercial analysis to support underwriting of renewable energy tax equity investments.
  • Review and interpret complex project finance models in Microsoft Excel.
  • Support contract negotiations and investment decisions through detailed financial modeling.
  • Analyze and summarize due diligence materials, including financial statements, expert reports, and legal documentation.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (portfolio management, risk, finance, accounting, legal) and external stakeholders (legal counsel, project sponsors) to manage deal execution and monitoring.
  • Prepare investment performance reports and presentations for senior management.
  • Ensure accurate monthly and quarterly accounting of renewable energy investments.
  • Provide portfolio insights to departments such as sustainability, audit, tax, accounting policy, finance, and risk.
  • Assist with lease portfolio analytics, including residual value analysis and inventory tracking.
  • Monitor industry trends, regulatory updates, and market conditions affecting clean energy tax credits and tax equity structures.

Requirements

  • 1–4 years of experience in renewable energy project finance, infrastructure finance, or tax equity investments.
  • Strong understanding of tax equity structures, clean energy tax credits, and project finance principles.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA, CFA, or CPA preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; strong skills in PowerPoint and Word.
  • Demonstrated experience in financial modeling, valuation, and investment analysis.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Solid understanding of financial accounting principles.

Hours and Work Schedule
Hours per Week:  40
Work Schedule:  Monday - Friday

Pay Transparency

The salary range for this position is $75,000 - $105,000 per year, plus an opportunity to earn an annual discretionary bonus.  Actual pay is based on various factors including but not limited to the work location, relevant skills, and experience.
