Payment Operations Specialist I - 2nd Shift

As the Payment Ops Specialist I, you are responsible for monitoring account payables and receivables for the Operations team. While in this role, you will review payment requests to ensure they comply with policies and procedures. You will also track vendor payments and review their status to identify any issues that may have occurred.

Primary responsibilities include

The ACH Payment Ops Specialist will be responsible for processing ACH transactions using various Banking Platforms within the governance of NACHA Rules and Guidelines.

  • Monitor outgoing origination transactions.
  • Monitor Risk assessment on ACH Origination files and perform escalation and follow through.
  • Keep ACH Origination files current and accurate
  • Maintain current understanding of ACH Processing rules for ODFI’s and RDFI’s including return timeframes, notification of change and error resolution in addition to the processing of Reclamations and Death Notification Alerts.
  • Review transactions as a secondary dual control
  • Process exception/return items and post journal entries to customer’s accounts
  • Performs high volume, time-sensitive tasks that are routine in nature.
  • Assist peers as needed to ensure all department tasks are completed.
  • Assists with updating department procedures and cross-training team members.
  • Complies with Banking Policies and Regulations

Qualifications, Education, Certifications and/or Other Professional Credentials

  • Minimum 2+ years in Banking Operations
  • Ability to research, resolve and troubleshoot issues
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • ACH and PEP+ product knowledge preferred
  • Pose excellent time Management skills

Hours & Work Schedule

  • Hours per Week: 40
  • Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 2:00pm-10:30pm. Must be available to work Sunday as needed (4:30pm-11:30pm)
  • Hybrid: 3 days on-site, 2 days remote
