The Global Markets Operations team within Commercial Operations supports Middle and Back Office functions across a range of Listed and Over-The-Counter (’OTC’) derivative products. The Confirmations and Settlements team is tasked with managing all transactional lifecycle events (affirmation, confirmation, settlements, etc.) across the Global Markets product suite (Foreign Exchange, Interest Rate and Commodity derivatives, Futures). Moreover, the Confirmations and Settlements function will be expected to meet all regulatory requirements related to our status as a registered Swap Dealer. This role will have a primary focus on supporting our Private Banking commercial clients. The candidate filling this role should possess skills that meet the needs and expectations of these high-net-worth clients, including offering a tailored white glove experience in every interaction.


This role will be responsible for management of all Global Markets Private Banking customer settlements within the core applications – IONs Wall Street Systems, as well as Calypso. This includes the collection and management of all key settlement data, client analysis, and internal/external inquiry management. Additionally, the function ensures compliance with department SLAs, policies, procedures, and/or regulatory and risk requirements in a fast-paced environment. The role will also include periodic reporting of productivity, quality, and other ad hoc requirements in an accurate and timely manner. It will be imperative that the candidate possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills, be comfortable with managing sensitive client interactions, and provide expedited resolutions when necessary.

Responsibilities:
•    Review Wall Street Systems queue populations and process trades for a particular counterparty / counterparty type. 
•    Determine if set up process is complete with goal of achieving STP processing.
•    Prioritize and action unconfirmed trades.
•    Perform confirmation/settlement of trades using telephony, email or e-commerce.
•    Coordinate settlement requests from clients for netting, split payments, etc.
•    Identify and implement opportunities for process re-engineering and automation 
•    Testing of new system functionality and releases from an operational perspective
•    Manage delivery, receipt, tracking and escalation of outstanding trade confirmations.
•    Perform confirmation of FX deals requests using telephony or email

Qualifications: 
•    Knowledge of FX and MM settlement practices.
•    Prior Foreign Exchange Back Office experience.
•    Knowledge of operational risk management and administrative organization (Compliance, Audit, security policies).
•    Familiarity with SWIFT standards (payments and confirmations) and industry standard settlement practices.
•    Knowledge of Global Markets Operations core FX systems (WallStreet Systems, FXall, Finastra, GTSS and Bloomberg)
•    Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
•    Thoroughness and attention to detail.
•    Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), advanced Microsoft Excel (Macros & V-Lookups) a plus
•    Experience with common E-commerce platforms (360T, FXALL, Bloomberg)
•    Understanding of SWIFT standards (payments and confirmations) and industry standard settlement practices.
•    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
•    Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment to meet deadlines and achieve group targets
•    Strong attention to detail and accuracy
•    Capable of detecting, interpreting and effectively socializing complex or sensitive issues 
•    Analytical thinker who is able to quickly identify connections between various pieces of data and systems and effectively articulate business impact
•    Ability to consistently maintain high levels of productivity.
•    Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
•    Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment in order to achieve group targets.
•    Develop and maintain effective cross-functional relationships

•    May be required to work extended hours when necessary.

Education, Certifications and/or Other Professional Credentials:
•    Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field
•    5+ years of experience in banking and financial services for a swap dealer or similar institution
