Role is not relocation eligible. 

As a Principal Storage and Backup Engineer, you will be pivotal in being a technical leader for a team dedicated to managing file, object, block storage and backup technologies in both public and private cloud. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee and ensure the successful design, implementation, and optimization of storage systems, along with seamless and secure backup, recovery and migration to public cloud platforms. You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to support business objectives, enhance efficiency, and drive innovation through modern storage solutions, while ensuring reliability, scalability, resilience, security, and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

· Provide technical leadership and mentorship of a team of storage and backup engineers and specialists

· Foster a collaborative and productive work environment, encourage knowledge sharing and skill development

· Provide guidance, support and coaching to team members, ensuring alignment with organizational goals

· Design, implement and maintain file, object and block storage solutions to meet business needs

· Oversee the configuration, optimization, and performance tuning of storage systems

· Recommend improvements or upgrades to enhance efficiency and scalability

· Develop and implement robust backup and recovery strategies to safeguard critical data

· Facilitate regular tests and audits of backup systems to ensure reliability and effectiveness

· Provide senior level troubleshooting and resolve issues related to backup and recovery procedures

· Lead the migration of storage systems including data and application data to public cloud platforms while ensuring security and compliance

· Collaborate with stakeholders to define migration strategies, timelines and objectives

· Partner with cloud engineering teams to optimize cloud storage utilization and costs while maintaining high performance and reliability

· Work closely with IT teams, including networking, security, and application teams to ensure seamless integration and functionality across systems

Qualifications - External

· 5+ years IT Operations and technical leadership of storage and backup systems with experience in large scale, mission critical enterprise environments

· Solid technology leadership and team mentoring skills with the ability to motivate and guide a technical team effectively

· Strong understanding and practice of backup, recovery, and disaster recovery principles and methodologies

· Proficiency in public cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and experience with cloud migration strategies

· Communications skills to interact with diverse stakeholders, convey technical concepts and influence decision making

· Ability to operate within a product operating model, agile or lean practices

· Excellent problem-solving abilities and proactive approach to identifying and addressing storage, backup and cloud related issues

Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related discipline, Cloud certifications, or relevant experience

Pay Transparency 

The salary range for this position is $ 125,840  - $ 188,760  per year plus an opportunity to earn an annual discretionary bonus. Actual pay is based on various factors including but not limited to the work location, and relevant skills and experience.
