Commercial Banking offers Citizens corporate and institutional clients a full range of wholesale banking products and services, including lending and deposits, capital markets (loan, debt, equity), M&A advisory, treasury & payment services, foreign exchange, interest rate and commodity hedging.
As the Finance Analyst - Corporate Banking, you will provide financial performance reporting and analytics focused on the underlying drivers of client and financial trends to inform monthly forecasts and overall business strategy. You will work collaboratively with Finance Managers on the team to provide financial decision support to executive leadership of the Corporate Banking business and will be responsible for continuously consulting business partners and researching trends to ensure key performance metrics and forecasts are up to date.

Primary responsibilities include
- Partner with line of business leadership to create monthly earnings forecasts that reflect the anticipated net interest margin, fee income, operating expenses and credit provisions that align with the anticipated interest rate and economic scenarios.
- Track the key drivers of changes in the commercial loan portfolio such as new originations, re-financings, changes to line utilization rates, disintermediation to the debt markets, and maturities in order to inform forecasts of changes to the size of the balance sheet.
- Support balance sheet optimization efforts to achieve the proper balance between liquidity, risk, pricing and returns. Identifying and tracking opportunities to redeploy capital is an important component of this effort by maintaining financial profiles of new credit originations as well as client exits in order to track progress of redeploying capital to more attractive opportunities.
- Prepare monthly financial performance reporting comparing results to forecast, budget and prior periods; a key deliverable is insightful variance commentary that highlights differences at a detailed driver level.
- Support of the annual budget and strategic planning processes, including the creation of financial models and documentation of key assumptions, reflecting the input of line of business management.
- Maintain a strong control environment by completing the month-end financial close including the identification of financial issues, risks and opportunities and synchronizing the financial impacts in monthly forecasts.
Qualifications, Education, Certifications and/or Other Professional Credentials
- Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related discipline.
- Excel based financial modeling experience.
- Exceptional problem solving and communication skills.
- Understanding of macroeconomic principles.
- Ability to multi-task and build strong partnerships with key stakeholders.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of Essbase financial reporting platform.
Hours & Work Schedule
- Hours per Week: 40
- Work Schedule: M-F (Hybrid - 3 days in office)
