As the Director of First Line Risk of Artificial Intelligence, you will represent the First Line of Defense and lead the business development and execution of policies and procedures that mitigate various types of risk at CFG. You will partner with the business and serve as a liaison, interfacing with business leaders to drive meaningful conversations on end-to-end risk and compliance policies within their function, strategize on solutions and mitigation activities, and develop remediation plans. You will support the Generative AI program within Enterprise Data and Analytics as well as serving as a Risk Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the broader AI program at the organization. 

Responsibilities

  • Lead the identification and mitigation of material risks in the Generative AI, AI/ML operation of the organization.
  • Collaborate with various business leaders to address specific risk issues, assess solutions or mitigation activities, and develop remediation plans.
  • Design, implement, and influence internal governance processes. Manage Governance throughout the firm to ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Advise and help senior management understand and manage risk and help to allocate capital in order to maximize risk-adjusted returns.
  • Reviews current policies and procedures to identify process gaps and opportunities for improvement.
  • Promote a culture of risk awareness and accountability through training, education, and risk management consultative support.
  • Be a leader in the transformation effort to help drive the organization into an agile centric delivery model.

Qualifications

  • 8-12+ years’ experience in Risk Management, Audit, or Compliance
  • Prior experience implementing and supporting enterprise-wide Risk programs
  • 8-12 years of experience within a financial institution preferred
  • Ability to develop control frameworks for new and existing technologies and supporting operations.
  • Demonstrated strong negotiation skills; including the ability to influence through use of compelling facts, thought-provoking discussion and logic.
  • Deep Knowledge and understanding of regulatory and legislative guidelines related to AI, Privacy, Data and Cyber Security.
  • Knowledge of the current landscape of AI regulation domestically and abroad
  • Knowledge of Responsible AI and AI Governance practices. Applicable certifications preferred such as the AI Governance Professional (AIGP).
  • Extensive experience managing complex projects
  • Proven relationship management skills, strong track record of ability to build trust and credibility through communication, actions and presence.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities
  • Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal

Education - Bachelor’s Degree preferred with at least 10 years of work experience within Technology and or Data Risk Management

  • Hours per Week: 40
  • Work Schedule: Monday-Friday
