Description
Citizens Bank is seeking a Data Engineer to create, manage, and optimize customer-facing datasets that support the Enterprise Data and Analytics Towns measurement activities. This role will focus on designing, implementing, and maintaining datasets that serve as the foundation for data-driven solutions. The ideal candidate will not only possess technical expertise but also demonstrate problem-solving abilities to address complex data challenges and ensure data integrity.
In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams including software engineers, marketing teams, and analysts to identify key data points, create accurate datasets, and deploy data products that align with business goals. An important component of this position is the creation of automated processes that allow the team to efficiently update datasets and provide high-quality data solutions for both internal stakeholders and customer-facing applications.
Essential Functions:
- Create and manage customer-facing datasets: Identify, build, and maintain datasets that support data-driven decision-making and performance tracking across various teams
- Collaborate with software engineers: Work closely with software engineers to ensure datasets are well-integrated into software applications and align with technical requirements.
- Ensure data quality: Validate and profile data from multiple sources to ensure completeness and accuracy, using quality control processes and problem-solving skills.
- Develop automated solutions: Create repeatable processes to streamline the update and maintenance of datasets, ensuring they remain timely and consistent.
- Supporting marketing teams: Collaborate with marketing teams to ensure that datasets are correctly structured and ready for analysis and campaign measurement.
- Problem-solving and troubleshooting: Address and resolve any data-related issues, enduring that all datasets meet technical and business requirements and maintain integrity over time.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience utilizing relational SQL or PL/SQL in an enterprise environment.
- Proven ability to identify, analyze, and solve complex data issues while effectively communicating solutions.
- Experience with scripting languages (Python, Linux Shell) is preferred.
- Familiarity with Agile and SCRUM methodologies is a plus.
- Experience working with retail banking datasets is a plus.
- Experience collaborating with software engineers or working on data integration projects with engineering teams is preferred.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, Finance or a related field.
