Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly experienced Partnerships and Business Development SVP to join our Commercial Bank Enterprise Payments team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of experience in partnerships and business development, with a strong focus on commercial execution of partnerships, fintech/payments ecosystem, strategic industry due diligence, and partner networking. This role will be instrumental in identifying market trends, developing strategic initiatives, and commercializing relationships with B2B fin-tech companies, payment providers, and managing strategic vendors. This role will partner closely with our Enterprise Corporate Development team on deal execution, as required, dependent on M&A needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning and Execution:
    • Develop and execute enterprise commercial partnerships strategies to drive growth and innovation.
    • Identify and evaluate potential future M&A opportunities within the fintech, B2B and payments sector.
    • Work closely with Corporate Development and Strategy on broader Citizens strategy and opportunity assessment.
  • Partnership Development:
    • Establish and maintain strong relationships with B2B fintech companies, payment providers, and strategic vendors.
    • Negotiate and structure partnership agreements to maximize value for the bank.
    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment and successful implementation of partnership initiatives and drive strong commercial outcomes for all parties.
  • Market Analysis and Trend Spotting:
    • Monitor industry trends, market developments, and competitive landscape.
    • Provide insights and recommendations to senior management on strategic opportunities and threats.
    • Develop and maintain a network of industry contacts to stay informed about emerging technologies and business models.
  • Commercialization and Relationship Management:
    • Drive the commercialization of relationships with internal business divisions to enhance product offerings and customer experience.
    • Work closely with product, marketing, and technology teams to integrate partner solutions.
    • Ensure ongoing management and optimization of partnerships to achieve strategic objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in managing enterprise level partnerships with a focus on fintech ecosystem and due diligence.
  • Proven track record of successful partnership development and commercialization.
  • Strong networking skills and established industry connections.
  • Previous experience at a fin-tech or payments provider and corporate development is highly desirable.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
