Description
Citizens’ Consumer Deposits and Customer Engagement team is seeking a Director, Deposit Portfolio & Pricing to apply their strategic and analytical skills to help drive growth and efficiency within the bank’s largest funding line
In this role, you will:
- Champion data-driven decision-making within the Consumer Deposits and Customer Engagement line of business with specific focus on deposit pricing, and portfolio optimization domains.
- Deliver sustainable pace of above peer deposit growth at favorable cost of funds/beta vs market.
- Lead direct-report team in using data and analytics to support business challenges and opportunities and drive data-driven solutions to improve portfolio growth and efficiency outcomes.
- Design, build, lead, measure, and continuously improve strategies, tools and tactics that resolve customer pain points and deliver on key business metrics.
- Lead all scenario building and provide direct inputs into all deposit budgeting and forecasting activities (balances, cost of funds, growth drivers, etc.)
- Lead all go to market activities to design and implement balance-building activities including all execution activities and partners (marketing, legal, risk, compliance, operations, etc.)
- Own the learning agenda for the Consumer deposit portfolio (specifically, rate-led CD and money market books) and guide partner teams to implement test and learn strategies to efficiently accumulate learnings and accelerate outcome optimization; Drive test design, measurement and decision guardrail expectations across teams that ensure learnings are captured and acted upon to improve future performance.
- Drive offer construct, targeting and presentation/fulfillment innovation to meet customer deposit needs while optimizing experience and efficiency.
- Partner closely with colleagues across departments, including Data, Customer Experience, Finance, Operations, Marketing, Modeling, and other teams to drive meaningful improvement in quality, volume, service, and profitability.
- Oversee and guide the collection, analysis, and interpretation of large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights to drive business growth; Coach teams to deaverage customer behavior/drivers of performance to expose key levers and then elevate insights tied to recommendations.
- Drive analyses and targeted insights to inform the performance of existing experiences and design and development of new customer experiences, as well as breakthrough technology and concepts designed to deliver on new go-to-market strategies.
- Accelerate speed to customer and product insights by leading initiatives to automate routine analytical processes to address foundational business questions more efficiently.
- Communicate portfolio trends and other relevant analytical insights as a clear and approachable story, reducing complexity as appropriate for different audiences.
- Develop, rationalize, and drive adoption of key performance indicators for various business units and strategic objectives, to showcase progress and elevate opportunities across teams.
- Rationalize programs and initiatives by solidifying business cases for new deposit growth and efficiency initiatives to illustrate potential benefits, risks, and prioritization considerations; Lead initiative performance measurement tied back to business cases to validate investments over time
- Manage relationships with external vendors and partners to leverage advanced analytics tools and solutions.
- Train and mentor analysts to build a high-performing team
Experience/Skills:
- Extensive experience in business analysis within the banking or financial services industry, including turning ambiguous business problems and raw or curated data into useful insights by applying critical thinking and analytic skills.
- Robust understanding of retail banking product economics, pricing strategies, and pricing models
- A solid understanding of statistical principles and quantitative methods
- Strong leadership and team management skills, including the ability to effectively lead both direct reports and complex, multi-team projects and programs; Embody a partner mindset focused, balancing collaboration and challenging the status quo.
- Strong SQL skills and an understanding of data structures; familiarity with big data technologies and platforms.
- Proven ability to design and build compelling data visualizations and decision-useful reports and dashboards.
- A strong sense of intellectual curiosity and ability to thrive and deliver value in an entrepreneurial working environment.
- Strong conceptual thinking skills and a strong quantitative orientation .
- A disciplined approach to making decisions, problem solving, and setting expectations based on analytics.
- A strong results orientation with focus on achieving both short- and long-term goals.
- Excellent written and oral communication credentials, coupled with ability to influence and drive agreement through interpersonal skill and ability to compellingly organize facts .
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
