Citizens JMP Securities, Inc., Citizens Institutional Broker-Dealer, is seeking a highly skilled Broker-Dealer Credit Risk Officer to provide specialization and working knowledge of Non-Bank Financial Institutions including Insurance Companies, Broker-Dealers, Investment Managers, Hedge Funds, Mutual Fund Families, and others.

Position Overview: 

In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing, designing, and implementing a Credit Risk methodology for counterparties on an individual / sector / portfolio basis. This would require the utilization of market data, the review / approval by Citizens Model Risk team as well as an understanding of the following trading businesses: Equities, Options, High Yield Bonds, and Derivatives via ATM Forwards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide counterparty limits during client onboarding as well as an annual portfolio review of all active counterparties.
  • Provide timely and accurate reports when needed to follow-up on monitoring results for trading activity and limit requests.
  • Ability to maintain credit files and folders to make sure everything is accurate to field internal audit reports and credit quality control.
  • Ability and knowledge of Excel to coordinate spreadsheets and information of trading systems.
  • Ability to partner with Trading desks to obtain sufficient financial data / information from clients to provide appropriate limits.
  • Analyze quality risk indicators (trends, variations, problems) to minimize losses (less complex analysis)

Education / Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or related field with 3-5 years of Finance, Credit Risk, or Trading experience. Work experience may substitute for education requirements.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for quantitative and qualitative analysis with a solid understanding of financial statements, financial modeling and company or industry analysis.

Preferred Qualifications and Credentials

  • FINRA Licenses: 7, 24, 57, 63, or ability to obtain within reasonable timeframe.
  • Strong analytical skills, including experience with programming and query languages (e.g., SQL) for enhanced data analysis.
  • Ability to design / create databases to preserve and provide time-horizons on business trends for visualization and analysis purposes (Tableau, PowerBI, etc.)

Hours & Work Schedule 

  • Hours per Week: 40
  • Work Schedule: M-F

Pay Transparency

The salary range for this position is $111,240 - $150,000, plus an opportunity to earn an annual discretionary bonus. Actual pay is based on various factors including but not limited to the work location, and relevant skills and experience.
