Description
The Data Remediation Specialist is responsible for identifying, analyzing, and resolving discrepancies within datasets, to ensure data quality and integrity. The individual will work closely with various stakeholders, including data analysts and business leaders to ensure that the organization's data is clean, accurate, and aligned with business needs. This role requires attention to detail, critical thinking, and a solid understanding of data management principles.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Analysis and Cleansing:
- Analyze large datasets to identify inconsistencies, anomalies, and inaccuracies.
- Clean and correct data by removing duplicates, filling in missing values, or correcting inaccurate information.
- Use data tools and scripts to automate data cleaning processes.
Data Validation and Integrity:
- Validate that corrected data meets company standards and business rules.
- Ensure the integrity and consistency of data across various platforms and sources.
- Work closely with the technology and business teams to implement data quality checks and rules.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work with business units to gather requirements and understand how data is used.
- Collaborate with data governance teams to ensure adherence to data quality policies.
- Provide regular updates to stakeholders regarding data remediation progress and issues.
- Effective communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts in a clear and concise manner.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Document all remediation processes, including decisions made and actions taken.
- Generate reports highlighting remediation efforts, improvements, and the quality of the data post-remediation.
- Identify and escalate recurring data quality issues for long-term resolution.
Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure that all remediation activities comply with internal policies and external regulations.
- Monitor and assess risks associated with data integrity and make recommendations for minimizing those risks.
Qualifications/Skills:
- Ability to analyze large datasets and identify patterns and trends
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and other data analysis tools
- Experience in regulated industry preferred
- Knowledge of industry regulations related to data
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Experience using Salesforce preferred
Hours & Work Schedule
- Hours per Week: 40
- Work Schedule: M-F
