In the role of the Business Systems Analyst, you’ll experience new things, create new opportunities, think beyond your role, and make an impact. You will utilize your expanded knowledge in your own area, in addition to acting as the primary interface between technology infrastructure and a specific business/functional area (e.g., fixed income, investment management, etc.). You will be responsible for identifying business unit requirements, building knowledge of company processes and customers, creating project and process specifications, and coordinating with project teams to ensure that projects are on schedule and within budget. Additionally, you will solve a range of business problems while collaborating with stakeholders and IT teams to design, develop, and implement technology solutions that align with business objectives. You may have dual reporting relationship to technology and to business/functional unit management. You are made ready to thrive in this role through your collaborative nature and use of excellent communication skills to provide ongoing support, maintenance, and enhancements to existing business systems and provide guidance to newer colleagues. Primary responsibilities include

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, document, and analyze business requirements.
  • Create functional specifications, user stories, and system design documents.
  • Develop test plans and test cases to ensure system functionality aligns with business requirements.
  • Support system implementation activities, including data migration, user training, and system go-live.
  • Engage with stakeholders to understand their needs, expectations, and concerns.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration among stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of functional specifications for systems and applications, ensuring they meet business requirements throughout the project and program lifecycle.
  • Provide guidance to ensure that operational readiness plan are created and executed. 

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Highly motivated, reliable, adaptable, and detail-oriented professional with exceptional analytical, writing, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proven track record of independently managing and leading projects, consistently meeting target deliverables on time.
  • Capable of working independently and multitasking in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Effective collaborator who takes initiative and thrives in team settings.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand, evaluate, and communicate solutions to complex process issues effectively.
  • Proficient in MS Office 365+ (Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned based on the needs of the delivery team.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Experience with Agile and SCRUM 
  • Experience in the financial services industry, especially banking.

Hours & Work Schedule

  • Location:      Johnston, RI
  • Hours per Week: 40
  • Work Schedule: Monday thru Friday, 8:30am-5pm
