The National Partnerships Manager reports to the Director of Strategic Partnerships & Engagement and establishes and executes the charitable giving strategy for the company’s national philanthropic partnerships as well as a portfolio of centralized programs. The position requires an experienced, strategic and detail oriented professional with extensive experience in charitable giving, grant making and project management. The individual must be able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines, in a fast-paced and agile environment. The chief function of this role is to is to effectively leverage, execute and enhance the bank’s portfolio of national philanthropic partnerships in addition to other key philanthropic and community engagement programming in order to create meaningful impact and raise brand awareness to the communities in which we live, work and play. Ideal candidate will have an extensive understanding of the philanthropic landscape (specifically in workforce development and financial literacy focus areas) and national centers of influence, conduct research, analyze data and report out on findings to best inform leadership in the development of the overall strategy of our national and centralized programs.
Primary Responsibilities
- Responsible for grant making on a portfolio of national charitable organizations.
- Strategize and execute national charitable contributions activities ensuring proper administration of budgets, adherence to CFG giving guidelines and SOPs and compliance with all policies and procedures of the Citizens Philanthropic Foundation and Citizens’ giving committees.
- Utilize a data-driven approach (through research and existing relationships to key stakeholders in the philanthropic sector) to make strategic, need-based philanthropic recommendations on a national level and utilize this data to educate and inform internal and external audiences.
- Oversight and development of overall workforce development strategy that will inform all of Corporate Affairs on how to make impactful funding investments.
- Regularly track and report metrics/measurement/results of charitable giving initiatives and demonstrate business impact.
- Partner locally with team members to activate national partnerships on a local level to maximize engagement.
- Establish and maintain meaningful relationships with philanthropic partners as well as leadership within the bank.
- Strict adherence to corporate risk and compliance guidelines and policies to ensure favorable audit results.
- Ability to be flexible to support the team in other initiatives as needed.
Experience & Skills
- Minimum 5-7 years of charitable giving/foundation grantmaking
- Experience developing strategic partnerships that drive brand favorability and consideration for the business using metrics and measurement to assess impact
- Exemplary writing, verbal, and problem-solving skills; must be able to effectively anticipate issues and problem solve when issues arise
- Strategic understanding of the nature of the philanthropic sector in particular, workforce development and financial literacy from a national perspective
- Ability to execute against strategy and drive results; demonstrated creative/critical thinking
- Budget management experience
- Excellent PowerPoint and Excel skills are required and will be tested
- Effective time management and project management skills; solid work ethic
- Ability to effectively manage multiple, changing priorities
- Ability to plan, implement and manage all aspects of complex projects to successful completion
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
- Experience in banking/financial services is preferred but not required
- Computer Skills: Microsoft Office Suite Proficiency
Education & Certificates
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field
Hours & Work Schedule
- Hours per Week: 40
- Work Schedule: 8:30 am - 5:00 pm (nights/weekends as required by job)
- Location: Flexible but must be in office minimum 3 days a week
