Principal Software Engineer

Citizens Financial Group, Inc. (CFG) seeks a Principal Software Engineer for its Johnston, RI location.

Duties: Designs, enhances, develops, and implements modern banking solution. Builds enterprise zero trust authentication solutions. Builds modern, architecturally sound components, tools and micro frontend/microservice applications to meet mission-driven strategic business goals. Participates in Agile methodology, adhering to best practices and collaborating effectively with team members. Infuses quality of service characteristics, such as scalability, manageability and maintainability, into distributed service-based framework to create and expand business and technical capabilities with microservice architecture. Leads a scrum team with software engineers. Performs code reviews, business requirement gathering, and converts the business requirements to technical artifacts.  Participates in building highly scalable services with high availability, low latency, and high throughput.  Incorporates confidentiality, integrity, authentication and non-Repudiation into developed applications.

Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, or related field, followed by five (5) years of progressive experience in the role or in a related position. Full term of experience must include: Architecting, designing, and building platforms using Angular, Single SPA, NgRx, Redux, Redis Cache, Express API’s, HTML, Java and NodeJS; Building enterprise solutions for user authentication using Angular, Transmit Security, Threat Metrix, Ping Identity, Spring, Java 11 and JavaScript; Utilizing AI chatbots and live person technologies to improve and automate customer service; Identifying and solving security related issues in existing implemented code; Developing re-usable common Angular components, services and filters to reduce development time; Creating POC’s for integration with third party API’s; Developing algorithms and flowcharts for the developers to implement zero trust authentication frameworks using Transmit, Ping, and ThreatMatrix; and Integrating Akamai NetStorage for deploying static assets using Phyton and Jenkins build.
