As the Home Equity Loan Originator, you will be responsible for generating sales of home equity lines of credit through leads and applications obtained through, but not limited to outbound lead campaigns, inbound phone calls, bank website, retention of existing customers, and other internal and external direct-to-consumer campaigns. You will successfully identify, develop, and maintain a quality network through your excellent customer service skills. You will also be responsible for supporting retail Branch Colleagues on more complex transactions. Through timely and responsive customer contact, needs-based selling techniques, referring to alternative bank products when appropriate, and by adhering to regulations, you will thrive in meeting non-branch production and NPS targets to effectively manage your pipeline as a source of referrals for new mortgage lending opportunities. Primary responsibilities include

  • Determine the customer’s financial objectives using needs-based sales processes, review the customer’s lending needs, and originate home equity lines of credit, and/or properly refer the customer to alternative product lines as appropriate.
  • Coordinate and communicate with the departments such as the operations team and other lending colleagues within Citizens (Loan Processing, Underwriting, Compliance) to gather conditions information and documents needed to ensure all loan conditions are met and approve the loan in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Keep the customer informed and answer questions that arise within the process. Perform regular communications with customers.
  • Maintain a sizable pipeline of loans, keeping it UpToDate while managing customer interaction.
  • Follow loans through the loan life cycle; track and monitor leads in a timely fashion, and work to retain existing customers by delivery service excellence.

Qualifications, Education, Certifications and/or Other Professional Credentials

  • BA /BS degree or equivalent experience 
  • 4 years of sales experience in financial services 
  • 3 years of current Mortgage and Home Equity experience 
  • Ability to work independently and successfully in a team environment 
  • Experience working in a call center environment 
  • Superior organization and time management skills 
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in fast environment 
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills essential 
  • Capable of delivering results within specified timeframe 
  • Proficient PC skills, including MS Office experience

Hours & Work Schedule

  • 40 Hours per Week:
  • Work Schedule: M-F some Saturdays required
