A Student Lending Operations Agent is responsible for managing and overseeing the processes related to student loans. This role involves ensuring that loan applications and financial transactions are processed accurately and efficiently, maintaining compliance with relevant regulations, and providing excellent customer service to internal and external partners.  

Primary responsibilities include

  • Loan Processing: Handle the review and processing of student loan applications.
  • Attention to Detail: Precision in handling financial transactions and maintaining accurate records.
  • Compliance: Ensure all loan operations comply with applicable laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with clients and colleagues.
  • Organizational Skills: Efficiently manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all loan transactions.
  • Customer Service: Provide support to internal and external clients regarding certification/disbursement-related inquiries.
  • Coordination: Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth loan certification and disbursement.
  • Problem Solving: Address and resolve any issues related to loan operations.

Qualifications, Education, Certifications and/or Other Professional Credentials

  • Strong organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • High level of commitment, self-starter, and results driven.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize, work unsupervised, and manage a varied workload.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Hours & Work Schedule

Hours per Week: 40

Work Schedule:  Monday - Friday 8-4:30 or 8:30-5, Hybrid in Johnston, RI
