As the Director First Line Risk within Commercial Banking, you will play a critical role in managing and mitigating risks in support of some of our highest profile business initiatives. You will partner with the business to assess and drive meaningful conversations on end-to-end risk and compliance, strategize on solutions and mitigation activities, and develop remediation plans. This role will be the primary risk partner for the Commercial Bank’s digital strategy and bank-wide intelligent automation program including Gen AI.

You will build relationships with partners across Lines of Defense and those responsible for developing enterprise policies and programs related to actively and safely pursuing Gen AI. Provide expertise, and guidance to the Commercial Risk team on Gen AI risk management practices.   

Responsibilities 

  • Evaluate and develop risk management and control practices related to emerging technologies including AI use cases, testing and deployment to maximize efficiencies and minimize risk.
  • Ensure adherence to the AI governance framework that align with organizational policies and regulatory requirements, focusing on ethical considerations and risk management.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments of AI use cases, systems and GenAI applications, identifying vulnerabilities and proposing effective mitigation strategies.  
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, to ensure adherence to AI governance and risk management
  • People management
  • Provide expertise, and guidance to the Commercial Risk team on Gen AI risk management practices.   

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years’ experience in Risk Management, Audit, or Compliance, including demonstrated prior experience with Technology Risk 
  • Direct experience with AI risk management programs and mitigation strategies 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to stay updated with industry trends and AI regulatory requirements, and quickly adapt to new technologies.
  • Lead, mentor and develop team members to achieve high performance and professional growth
  • Extensive leadership skills including influencing without direct management
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities
  • Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal

Education, Certifications and/or Other Professional Credentials:

  • BA/BS degree required.
  • Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM), Financial Risk Manager (FRM) or equivalent certification

Hours & Work Schedule:

Hours per Week: 40

Work Schedule: M-F 8-5

Hybrid - 3 days in the office, 2 working from home

Pay Transparency:

The salary range for this position is $162,000 - $200,000 per year, plus an opportunity to earn an annual discretionary bonus. Actual pay is based on various factors including but not limited to the work location, and relevant skills and experience.
