The Telecom Expense Manager role is a support position focused on the lifecycle management of all telecom related expenses.  This would include provisioning IT telecom services, invoice, and inventory management. Financial oversight of the inventory and reporting of current and future status.  The Telecom Expense manager is responsible for identifying and reporting on cost save, and avoidance opportunities. 

Primary responsibilities include

  • Work closely with Managed TEM provider, Tangoe, to ensure inventory, invoicing and cost is loaded timely and correctly.
  • Ensure 100% capture of client invoices for on-time processing.
  • Audit and process telecom wireline and wireless invoices according to schedule.
  • Forensic analysis of telecom invoices inclusive of receiving, reviewing, approving, auditing, optimizing, processing, validating payment, etc.
  • Investigate and identify inventory exceptions and dispute with vendor as required
  • Vendor management - work closely with telecom vendors to ensure timely receipt of invoices, accurate pricing and cost validation, dispute management and timely/accurate MACD activity.
  • Provide timely, detailed, and accurate reporting as required.
  • 5+ years in telecommunications and/or in the Telecom Management (TEM) and/or Managed Mobility Services (MMS) industries
  • Able to perform in-depth audits and reconciliation of telecom and data networking service orders and change activity against vendor records, billing and corporate-wide financial objectives.
  • Ability to file carrier disputes when warranted.
  • Able to manage order tracking, expense monitoring and allocation of cost and credits for network activity, across multiple business units.

Qualifications, Education, Certifications and/or Other Professional Credentials

  • Telecom invoice management
  • General knowledge of business finance cost allocation, AP and GL process
  • Basic knowledge of telecommunications services and networks (voice, data, mobile, unified communications)
  • General knowledge of enterprise system integrations (i.e. Tangoe, Apptio, FieldGlass, Ariba, Oracle Financials)
  • Reviewing, understanding, interpreting, and managing carrier contracts
  • General knowledge of and understanding of pricing and benchmarking of telecom services
  • Knowledge of vendor internal processes (AT&T, Verizon, Frontier, Lumen)
  • Expert knowledge in Excel, visio
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred with 5+ years of business support experience.
  • Effectively communicate within all levels and diverse culture of the organization. 

Hours & Work Schedule

  • Hours per Week: 40
  • Work Schedule: 9:00 to 5:00
