As the Manager of the Analysis and Reporting Team within Consumer Accounting, you will play a major role in ensuring the processes that collect, validate and deliver key financial reporting across the Enterprise are working as intended, and are modernized as technology upgrades and data specifications evolve.  You will directly oversee a team of 7 Data Analysts that produces Journal Entries, Loan Level and Portfolio Level Reporting, and other Financial reporting to your “Customers” which includes the Accounting Team, Corporate Controllers, Enterprise Data, and other key areas.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of senior data/quantitative analysts responsible for developing enterprise-wide accounting solutions for the Consumer Bank. 
  • Manage a large collection of EUDAs (End User Developed Applications) based in SAS and Excel. 
  • Oversee the inventory of procedures and other internal controls as required.
  • Manage the automated processes to ensure success and resolve technical issues if necessary.
  • Serve as the Consumer Accounting project lead for strategic banking initiatives and significant projects with stakeholder engagement across the organization.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and provide leadership and hands on day-to-day solutions.
  • Good interpersonal, negotiating, and influencing skills with a demonstrable ability to engage senior management and engage at all levels of the organization. 
  • You should be able to “tell a story”, in addition to providing technical information, about how the inputs/processes/outputs of the team fit into the Bank’s loan portfolio performance.
  • Balance the technical and data requirements of the job with a sound understanding of Financial & Accounting Loan concepts and policies. 
  • Coach and develop colleagues that are responsible for SAS programming, business analysis, business systems/automation and operational risk management activities.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of Banking and/or Financial Services work experience in a technical leadership role or equivalent experience.
  • Qualified applications must be highly organized, constantly making connections between distributed reports, file/folder locations, and other document storage platforms.
  • Experience managing projects including an understanding of the system development life cycle and Agile techniques/methodologies.
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiating, and influencing skills with a demonstrable ability to engage senior management.
  • Strong problem solving and time management skills, a superior client service orientation and advanced analytical capability. 
  • The ability to multi-task and function efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced environment is truly important. 
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to support others through development and coaching.
  • Solid knowledge of MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word.

Preferred Additional Qualifications:

  • Accounting and/or Risk experience
  • SAS programming experience 
  • Knowledge of Loan Accounting/Finance
  • Demonstrated past job stability
  • Experience with Oracle (GL); HFM (Reporting); ALS (FIS supported); and/or MSP (Black Knight supported)

Education: 

  • BA required; MBA preferred

Work Hours & Schedule:

  • Hours per Week: 40
  • Work Schedule: M-F 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM ET (may fluctuate as work requires)
  • Hybrid position: 3 days in the office/2 days work from home
